A full upgraded player house will cost 5,696,000 bells. Looking at the big picture of 3.04 million people purchasing the game, this amount alone puts Nook’s net worth at 17,258,880,000,000 bells or $172,588,800,000, although this does not include the costs to build the house.

Since a builder can expect around a 25% profit margin, this still leaves Nook with $43,147,200,000, making him almost twice as rich as Elon Musk, who has a net worth of $24.6b, according to Forbes.

The Reddit thread goes on to value the island at $141,780. Once again multiplying this by the number of players, we get a whopping $602,182,200,000. If there are more players on the island, thanks to multiplayer, Nook can add another $14,240 profit per player. A family of 4 playing together will net Nook a profit of $56,960. When added to the island value this means $198,740 in total.

Next, we have the island shops, which we are basing on a 2 room home, assuming there is a second room for stock as well as the main room. This would make a store just 286,000 bells to build, or $2860. As players are providing some materials to help, we’re going to assume a profit of around 50%, meaning $2860 for Nook’s Cranny and the Able Sisters Store.

Blather’s museum is much bigger. It has 3 sections which each contain extra rooms. Assuming it’s twice as much floor space as a fully upgraded house for ease, 25% profit would be around $28,480.

So far, Nook’s total profit is still only $230,080, far from the money-grabbing multi-bellionaire we consider him. Even converting his $ value to bells it only comes to a relatively modest 23 million bells. However, there are other factors to consider.

One must assume those solar panels we built are doing something right and Nook has an infrastructure to clean water from the ocean. This won’t come without a cost though, so he is actually far more generous than you’d think.

Nook also employs Isabell to help him in Resident Services, a building he funded. Her wages alone, if based on the US average salary for a secretary, are likely to be $29,525 a year or 2,952,500 bells.

To offset these costs he has Dodo Airlines renting an airport on the island and frequent visitors like Kicks, who likely pay to temporarily rent space on the plaza. While it’s more difficult to assess the profit on this we can assume it will likely pay Nook’s costs.

Therefore, Tom Nook’s net worth is tied to each individual island, since he makes a profit from every bell you spend in Nook’s Cranny. He’s also bound to sell on all those fish, bugs and other things you sell to the twins; likely to people like C.J and Flick, who will give you Nook’s cut if you sell to them directly.

A miserly island dweller will net little for the raccoon, while an islander who loves to buy decor and gifts for friends will bring a great profit. Nook also makes money from selling permits as well as constructing bridges, ramps, and stairs on the island.
