The new season of Apex Legends has been revealed and it looks to be a combination of both interesting and terrifying concepts, chief among them being Revenant. In addition to the new character, Season 4 will also feature alterations to the map and a sniper that seems to take after Nikola Tesla. A range of updated cosmetics have also made their way into the game, yet Revenant’s grimdark addition has overshadowed them all.

It’s the perfect time to redeploy if only to experience Revenant’s range of special abilities.

With the face of a skull and two glowing eyes, Revenant looks to be one menacing new addition to the Apex roster. As a cyborg assassin who is thousands of years old, this new face adds a certain level of variety to the game, much like Caustic and Wattson. How one utilizes Revenant will be the deciding factor, as it all depends on how well he can adapt in the Ravaged World.

A Reddit post with a Revenant leak shows a variety of enhancements and power-ups that the character will showcase. For starters, he will automatically have improved walking and wall-climbing, plus a tactical Shadow walk that allows him to move faster and quieter. The separate Silent power gives him the option to disable opponents’ abilities for ten seconds. Plus, Revenant can pick up dead comrades with his Death Recall by dropping a totem and resurrecting fallen players.

From the looks of the trailer, it’s safe to assume he will fit right in. The ability to change oneself and teammates into smoke will aid in those tough moments, wherein the player is either pinned down by multiple teams or is in a desperate situation at the end of a game. Revenant’s shadow ability, coined Turn Shadow, could mean the difference between life and death, but it’s not the only trick up the cyborg’s prosthetic arm. There’s another scene in the trailer where Revenant appears to shoot something from his arm, which then targets the other player. Marked for Death is the perfect name for this poison dart. Going up against him alone may not be in one’s best interest. After all, as the cyborg says himself “I am Death.”

Is Revenant right for you, though? One way to find out is by researching your MBTI in regards to the Apex characters, yet there’s always practice. If not, Season 4 will be host to a variety of awesome additions, from the new sniper to all-new skins for Wraith, Lifeline, and Wattson.

Apex simply killed Revenant’s reveal. A fakeout character’s death, followed by an explosive and detailed Season 4 trailer only amps up every Apex player on the planet. It’s about time to drop in and see what’s what new in World’s Edge. Season 4 deploys everywhere February 4.
