Arkane is reportedly investigating issues concerning the performance of Deathloop on PC after multiple players reported problems with mouse stuttering and inconsistent frame rates. This news comes from a Deathloop community manager who explained on Deathloop’s official Reddit page that the issues are being investigated.
According to the community manager, Arkane is “aware of reports that some PC users are experiencing stuttering issues in Deathloop” and is currently looking at the problems “right now as a priority.” They go on to explain that an update with more specfic information is coming soon.
Despite being critically reviewed as one of Arkane’s finest games, Deathloop’s user reviews on Steam currently sit at “Mixed” after over 2,700 reviews. Many of the negative reviews consist of players complaining about the game’s optimisation on PC, with some even claiming that the game’s anti-piracy software is the cause.
The community manager doesn’t mention any specific dates for future fixes, but hopefully Arkane can get a patch out quickly and maybe even remove the game’s anti-piracy measures if that is the cause of the issues. Deathloop is currently available for PC and is a console exclusive on PS5. Deathloop will also be coming to Xbox consoles due to the games year-long timed exclusivity on PS5, although a release date for the Xbox version of the game has not yet been announced. You can likely expect more news about the Xbox version around this time next year.
