Storefronts are already letting you pre-order Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, due out later this year, and with them come more details on what to expect from the latest entry to the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Ubisoft’s German store, for whatever reason, is offering even more details than most on just what will come with Valhalla, and is even providing tantalizing details on what comes with the game’s season pass.

In addition to “new content, new lands, and new gear,” Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s season pass will also provide a new story mission called “The Legend of Beowulf.”

For those who didn’t major in English or haven’t seen the 2007 film starring Angelina Jolie, Beowulf is an ancient English poem written between the years 975 and 1025. It tells the tale of Swedish hero Beowulf as he goes to save the King of the Danes from the monster Grendel. He kills the beast, goes home to become King of the Geats, and then gets killed by a dragon. Family fun for all.

Ubisoft says that the AC Valhalla story mission will have players “discover the cruel truth behind the legend,” which leads us to think that Valhalla will go slightly off-script. Given how the original poem was written by an Englishman and they’re the villains of the upcoming game, we can imagine some dark secrets emerging throughout the mission.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla pre-orders will also get access to another story mission called “Way of the Berserker.” This mission will almost certainly explore the Viking warrior tradition where “berserkers” are said to become possessed by the spirit of the bear, making them impervious to pain and able to fight with the ferocity of a rabid animal. Expect this mission to be pretty grisly (pun intended).

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla arrives on current-gen and next-gen consoles in Q4 2020, as well as PC via the Epic Games Store and Uplay.
