Bachelorette frontrunner, Brandon Jones, revealed the “wild story” of how he joined the show after he chose Michelle Young to win Matt James’ season when his friends explained that they would all pick a favorite and see if their choice made it to the end. Brandon, 27, a traveling nurse recruiter from Portland, Oregon, has emerged as one of Michelle’s favored suitors as she chose him as part of her Final 4 contestants to go on hometown dates. He is known for his youthful good looks and charismatic personality. Brandon has been one of Michelle’s most stable guys, staying out of the drama and making her his top priority.
Brandon’s entrance was one of the more memorable ones of the season, as he was wheeled out on a bed, saying, “Well, I just wanted to show you kind of what it’d be like waking up next to me every morning for the rest of our lives.” After participating in many group dates, Brandon finally got his one-on-one date during the 6th week of the season. The date was especially memorable because Michelle invited Brandon to her parents’ house in Woodbury, Minnesota. When Michelle’s parents unexpectedly interrupted their time in the jacuzzi, Brandon was a bit embarrassed, but kept his cool, and was brave enough to privately ask them for their blessing to propose to Michelle if the opportunity presented itself at the end of the season. Michelle’s parents gave him their blessing. Later, Michelle gave Brandon a rose, indicating that she was ready and excited to meet his family during their hometown date the following week.
On the Click Bait with Bachelor Nation podcast, hosted by Joe Amabile, Tia Booth, and Natasha Parker, Brandon shared the “little bit of a wild story” of how he became a member of Michelle’s cast. Brandon admitted that he had only seen Matt James’ season of the show. He began watching when his roommate told him that he should pick a favorite contestant and then see if she goes to the end. Brandon recalled thinking, “My favorite’s Michelle. You know, basketball player, cutie, everything like that.” He confessed that he got “sucked in to the show because Michelle kept going.” When Michelle was announced as the Bachelorette, his roommate encouraged him to sign up because he knew that Brandon liked her and they had a lot in common. Brandon said no, but his roommate had other plans.
Three days later, Brandon’s roommate presented him with the application for the show. He had filled out most of it for Brandon and told him to add some pictures to it and send it in. When Joe asked Brandon why his roommate did this for him, he said, “He believed in me, and I didn’t even believe in myself. I was like, ‘Okay, I look like I’m 17 years old first off, so there’s no way.'” Brandon did eventually sign up, and was at the gym when he got the call that he was going to be on the show “in the blink of an eye.” At first, he didn’t know exactly what was happening, admitting that he said, “Wait. Am I on the show?” The response was, “Oh yeah, did no one tell you? You’re the last one.” He explained that there were only Zoom calls, and no in-person interviews because of the pandemic. Brandon accepted his position on the show and was “so excited,” and now may be looking at a future with Michelle.
Brandon has been one of the most loved contestants of the season. It was fortunate for him and Michelle that he decided to take a leap of faith and follow his heart after watching her on Matt’s season. Luckily for Brandon, Michelle felt the same way about him, and they had a strong connection. Although fans do not yet know the outcome of the show, it is clear that Brandon and Michelle have changed each other’s lives for the better. Hopefully, Brandon will receive Michelle’s final rose and their story will have a happy ending.
