Microsoft has just announced what games will be heading to Xbox Game Pass in October, and it’s a pretty stellar lineup if I do say so myself. A few we already knew about as Xbox loves to remind us of day-one Game Pass arrivals, but there are still a few surprises here for the start of the spooky season.

Here’s the quick rundown:

  • Today: Totally Accurate Battle Simulator (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Oct 7 – The Procession to Calvary (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Oct 7 – Visage (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Oct 12 – Back 4 Blood (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Oct 12 – Destiny 2: Beyond Light expansion (PC)
  • Oct 14 – Ring of Pain (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Oct 14 – The Riftbreaker (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S)
  • Oct 15 – The Good Life (Cloud, Console, and PC)

Today, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can enjoy Totally Accurate Battle Simulator on cloud, console, and PC. This sandbox game lets you pit armies against each other to see which will come out on top. Those armies can include wooly mammoths, cowboys, Vikings, samurai, angels, and M1A1 main battle tanks, with the outcome always being completely accurate.

October 7 (that’s Thursday) will bring two more indie games: The Procession to Calvary and Visage. The Procession to Calvary is a point-and-click adventure game that looks exactly like a Monty Python sketch using animated Renaissance paintings. Visage, meanwhile, is a psychological horror game where you explore a house that keeps changing whenever you look in the opposite direction. Both will hit PC, console, and the cloud.

Back 4 Blood arrives on October 12, a day-one release on both Xbox Game Pass as well PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC. The spiritual successor of and made by the creators of Left 4 Dead, Back 4 Blood brings back a four-player co-op romp through a zombie apocalypse.

Also coming October 12 is the most recent Destiny 2 expansion, Beyond Light, but only for PC Game Pass subscribers. Experience the frozen tundra of Europa and learn the secrets of the Exo in this chilling expansion that leads up to February’s Witch Queen DLC.

October 14 brings to more indie gems in Ring of Pain and The Riftbreaker. Ring of Pain is a roguelike deck-building dungeon crawl, while The Riftbreaker is another day-one release where you suit up in a giant mecha on a distant plane to defend your colony from alien marauders. The Riftbreaker is a next-gen game available for cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S, while Ring of Pain is available on every device that can carry Game Pass.

And finally, we arrive at The Good Life, a new adventure from Swery where you play as a journalist who turns into a dog in a picturesque English village. This day-one release will be available on the cloud, console, and PC.
