Bandai Namco has announced that the upcoming mobile game, Tales of Luminaria, has begun pre-registration for iOS and Android devices. The new mobile RPG, which is part of the ever-expanding “Tales” series, also unveiled an official website that offers a little more on what fans can expect from this new story. A recent special livestream event shared what fans can expect from this “down-to-earth RPG experience”.
Tales of Luminaria aims to bring a whole new mobile game experience for fans of the “Tales” series. This new ensemble RPG will feature 21 unique characters with different perspectives that will show off their way of life and the bonds that they share. Each of the 21 characters, which have been designed by Shun Saeki (Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma), will grow as they interact and clash with each other over their own search for justice.
The 21 characters are split amongst three separate factions: the young knight candidates of the Jerle Federations, the generals supporting the Gildllan Empire, and the adventurers who pursue truth without aligning with either country. Set amid the backdrop of war between the Federation and Empire, these 21 protagonists will weave new bonds as they live out their lives in accordance with their beliefs and objectives. As players take control of each character, it will alter their perspective of what is happening in this war-torn world and will expand on the story in surprising ways.
Though the game will only be available on mobile devices, unique action battles help the game’s tap and flick controls not become stagnant. These action battles link each character’s personality, like standing quickly with a sword or sniping remotely with a bow and arrow. By grabbing friends to share in this brand-new adventure, you can slay the beasts that lurk in dungeons, topple giant bosses, gather information from villages and towns you visit, and so much more.
Also revealed during the livestream event, a new anime series based on the game will be made. The anime, titled “Tales of Luminaria: The Fateful Crossroad”, is being done by studio Kamikaze Douga and will stream through Funimation, which handled the game’s English voice casting.
Though Tales of Lumeria will maintain the theme of “encounters that change the world” that the “Tales of” series is known for, this all-new adventure can be enjoyed by both die-hard fans of the series and newcomers alike. Tales of Luminaria currently does not have a release date, though it will be available on iOS and Android devices.
