Chapter 8 is the final chapter of Batman: The Enemy Within Episode 1: The Enigma, and it starts off at the Virago, the casino from the first chapter if players chose to follow Rumi Mori. If players decide to choose Eli Knable, then they end up going to the GCPD. This guide will follow the path where players choose Rumi Mori since it will lead to the “best” ending players can get.
The best ending keeps everyone alive (except Riddler), at the cost of Agent Blake’s hearing. Additionally, no matter which path the player chooses, Riddler will end up dead and Waller will reveal that she knows Batman’s true identity. The final chapter of this episode will play a big role in Bruce/Batman’s relationship with Gordon and Waller based on the decision the players make. This guide will help them strengthen their relationships with those characters as well as keep everyone alive.

Requirements for the “Best” Ending
- Take the USB from Mori by force
- Answer all of Riddler’s questions with the correct answer. The answer is given to the player during that part, so it’s quite simple.
- Batman takes the fall for Gordon at the end.
If the player does this, then they will strengthen their relationship with Gordon as well as Waller, and every agent will live. However, Agent Blake will end up deaf no matter what the player does. Additionally, Riddler will die, and Agent Waller will end up revealing that she knows who Batman really is.
The chapter begins with Bruce entering Virago, the casino all the way back from the first chapter. Bruce and Mori will converse about getting information on Riddler, which prompts Mori to pull out a USB with the data. He offers it to Bruce in exchange for Bruce helping him escape the city. This is where players should choose to take the USB by force because if they help him, Batman’s relationship with Waller will worsen.
After taking the USB, Bruce will become Batman and leave to take down Riddler. He is then captured by taking the bait of Agent Blake. This is where the player will need to answer his questions correctly. Riddler’s questions aren’t riddles, and all of their answers are literal. The player should just answer them cleanly. During the third question, the player will need to link the missiles to a couple of things, and once the player answers the question correctly, they will escape. A fight between Batman and Riddler ensues and then Riddler will be anonymously shot with some sort of dart, killing him.
After Riddler dies, Gordon and Waller show up. Waller is infuriated with the secret operation, so she demotes Gordon. This is when Batman needs to show loyalty to Gordon. This will strengthen their relationship without hurting his with Waller. After Gordon leaves, Waller will mention that she looks forward to working with Batman and reveals that she knows that his real identity is Bruce Wayne, ending Episode 1.
