Dean Slover has graced Below Deck on several seasons and has drummed up quite a reputation for being difficult, but what is to know about Dean? Below Deck is now in its eighth season on Bravo and continues to prove just how entertaining the world of luxury charter yachting is. A huge part of their success is the intense relationships between crew members as they navigate the season. Sometimes, though, the guests can be as much of a handful as the crew. That is the case with Dean Slover.

Dean Slover made his first appearance on season 2 of Below Deck. He made an instant impression with his extensive preference sheet, including precise meal times. He identified himself as the boss and continued that attitude when he was on board. Kate Chastain, Below Deck’s former Chief Steward, won him over with a creative “rocket ship” shaped towel on his bed, and since then, he has made several more appearances on the show.

Dean Slover, first and foremost, is an avid traveler. When he is not chartering yachts, he travels the world and records it all on social media. He is also a partner in several restaurants, including Sandbar Mexican Grill in Arizona. Dean Slover is well-traveled and an entrepreneur with impressive business acumen, but he is also a foodie. That comes as no surprise to those familiar with his run on Below Deck as he requested such classics as paella, charcuterie, and luxury level champagne. His Instagram account @deanslover is filled with different ultra-satisfying dishes that he has enjoyed on his travels.

Now, as much as Dean is demanding and difficult, he is also a lot of fun and Kate Chastain’s self-professed “charter guest soul-mate.” Meaning, while demanding, Dean does not surprise. He wants what he wants the way he wants it, and in the world of luxury charter yachts, that is the norm. What makes him even better is that every time Dean has been a guest on the ships of Below Deck, he has tipped generously. Of course, tips are never guaranteed, but what is worst than a difficult guest who does not tip? Nothing, absolutely nothing.

Dean might be difficult, but he was always after a good time. While that included humiliating the crew from time to time with diving competitions, Greecian themed awards parties, and apology songs, he always left them smiling with a generous tip. As far as Below Deck is concerned, he is welcome back anytime.
