Throughout The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Link will doubtlessly amass a number of materials and parts from the monsters he defeats. Kilton’s monster shop must first be encountered at the Skull Lake locale in Northern Hyrule during the night. After that, Link can visit the Fang and Bone in a number of locations in BOTW after 9:00 P.M in-game. The armor set, referred to as the Dark Series, is only available for purchase after Link has freed all four of Breath of the Wild’s Divine Beasts. The in-game descriptions of each item mention that they were created in the image of a monster born from shadows, clearly referencing Dark Link and how the character has previously appeared in the Zelda series. When worn as a complete set in BOTW, Link is granted little in terms of defense, but he has a faster movement speed during the night. Humorously, the armor has a secondary effect of frightening NPCs Link approaches while wearing it, likely to emphasize Kilton’s statement that Link will look like a monster with the Dark Series armor equipped.
Additionally, Link can earn various Medals of Honor from Kilton by defeating a number of powerful enemies throughout Hyrule, such as Taluses, Hinoxes, and Lynels. These medals do not offer any special benefit, however, so players may choose to obtain them after beating BOTW’s story. In the meantime, Kilton’s monstrous shop will remain a place for Link to trade the surplus of Bokoblin Guts he has stockpiled throughout Breath of the Wild for some useful gear.
