The hit game, Call of Duty: Mobile enters the esports world after announcing the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship kicking off April 30, featuring a prize pool over $1 million. Those well-versed in the mobile gaming sphere should be excited at the possibilities a tournament of this magnitude can bring to the table.

Call of Duty: Mobile was successful in bringing one of gaming’s popular franchises to mobile devices. Well polished and featuring an impressive amount of depth for a free-to-play mobile game, CoD: Mobile signaled another step in the evolution of mobile gaming, it’s capabilities and its ability to reach a wider audience than ever before. For those interested in qualifying for the World Championship tournament, there are some qualifications to be met first.

Players must be 18 years of age as well as be ranked Veteran or higher in Multiplayer. Those who meet these requirements can try their hand at qualifying for the World Championship by working their way through four weekends of online play, meeting the requirements along the way. Once players sign up during the weekend, they enter the initial round where they play ranked and try to earn points to make it to the next round.

The first ten ranked matches will be used to determine tournament points. To reach Stage 2, players must earn a total of 80 points though the amount of points for a win and a player’s individual performance hasn’t been announced yet. Once a player reaches Stage 2, they must form a team with other players that made it through Stage 1. More details about the next stages should be released soon.

Mobile peripheries will not be allowed during the competition. Players must compete on an eligible handset while bluetooth controllers, wired controllers, mouse and keyboard, etc… will be restricted. The qualifying weekend tournaments will begin on April 30 and will conclude on May 24.
