A new trend is emerging in Call of Duty multiplayer games, and it might just stick around.
Getting a string of kills in a PVP game like Call of Duty: Warzone or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is an impressive feat considering the player must outsmart and outskill other players of varying experience and skill levels. Lately, players have taken to using Kali Sticks to achieve this string of kills.
One player took to Reddit to show themselves in Warzone using a combination of Kali Sticks and stealth to finish off the remaining opponents and win the round. The Kali Sticks appear to be rather effective weapons as they take down enemies within a strike or two.
Another player on Reddit playing Modern Warfare demonstrated a more aggressive approach to using Kali Sticks. Rather than utilizing stealth and ambush tactics to take down opponents like the previous player had, this one used speed and the element of surprise. By running at full tilt, the player was able to catch players off guard and club them down before moving onto the next opponent.
Reading the discussions between players, it seems that Kali Sticks have great DPS to offset their lack of range. If a player can get within striking range their opponent will typically go down quickly, the trick is getting close enough. As the two above examples show, utilizing a combination of stealth and surprise or speed and surprise is enough to accomplish this.
Players have also mentioned that Kali Sticks have a unique advantage over other melee weapons in that they cause the player to lunge forward when used. Some claimed in this Reddit thread that the Sticks allow a player to lunge forward three meters, nearly twice the distance of a combat knife or rifle butt.
