A YouTube star has purchased a billboard in Los Angeles to try and get Treyarch to remaster a classic Call of Duty zombies map in new game.

An avid Call of Duty zombies YouTube star has rented a billboard outside the Treyarch offices in an attempt to get the studio to remaster an old zombies map from Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Activision has already confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which is due to launch on November 13, will feature a revamped Zombies mode that includes more powerful and outlandish weapons than ever before.
The Zombies mode has been a staple of the Treyarch’s Call of Duty games for more than a decade. This meant that it was always likely the new entry in the series would feature zombies in some shape or form. Treyarch officially unveiled the new mode a few weeks ago. As well as containing many of the same features, a fan-favorite map in the form of Nacht der Untoten is being remastered along with the introduction of a more in-depth narrative to accompany the action.
A dedicated YouTuber who specializes in playing the Zombies mode in Call of Duty has gone to extreme lengths in the hope of getting a classic map from the series remastered in the reboot. JohnyJ25 wants developer Treyarch to include the “Die Rise” map from Call of Duty: Blacks Ops 2 in the upcoming Call of Duty: Blacks Ops Cold War. Rather than start a petition or create a video, he has rented an entire billboard in Los Angles right across the street from the Treyarch offices. The YouTuber is hoping that the audacious move will catch the attention of the developers and bring his campaign to their attention. Paid for by a GoFundMe project, the billboard reads “Hey 3arc, remaster Die Rise” and includes a list of all the backers who contributed to its creation.
Although it is unknown exactly what maps will be included in the Zombies mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, fans do know that the battle royale mode Warzone will be updated with content from the new game. Rather than replace the highly popular game mode, Activision will share content in Warzone between the two games by Treyarch and Infinity Ward.
With Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War already bringing back one classic map from Zombies, it’s likely that developer Treyarch will be remastering more in the future. This stunt is unlikely to change what campaigns will be included when the game launches but it might bring the studio’s attention to the fact that fans want to see “Die Rise” brought back. That could mean it might show up in future DLC to satisfy the demands of players.
