According to CKY drummer Jess Margera, a new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater is currently in development.

VGC reports that Jess Margera appeared on the Behind Closed Doors podcast in late April, where CKY’s previous work on Tony Hawk was discussed.

When asked about the band’s work previously appearing on Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3, Jess Margera said, “Yeah, and I believe we’re doing the new one coming out too”. It’s not clear whether Margera is referencing a new song from the band coming to the game, or if it’s a re-licencing of their song in Pro Skater 3, but he seems sure that a new title is coming one way or the other.

The only announced Tony Hawk game coming soon is the Switch port of Pro Skater 1+2, and it would be a bit odd for a port to receive new music. It seems like Margera isn’t mistakenly referencing Pro Skater 1+2, as he carries on to mention that game, saying, “Yeah, my son just got a PS5 and he got the remaster of 1 and 2″.

Although a brand new game is entirely possible, the most likely thing to happen is a remaster of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4. This would also make sense considering CKY had a song in Pro Skater 3, which means that they’d have to have their track relicensed for a remaster, and would have knowledge on a game coming out.

A new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater isn’t a massive surprise considering the success of the remaster, but the bigger mystery is what studio will be developing the game. Vicarious Visions, the developers behind the remaster of Pro Skater 1+2, has controversially been moved to developing updates for Call of Duty: Warzone, and Activision reportedly has every one of its studios working on Call of Duty in some regard.

Tony Hawk games have a bit of a habit of being leaked before the official reveal, and musicians are often the ones doing the leaking. The Death Set revealed the existence of the Pro Skater remasters before Activision could, despite not actually appearing in the game when it released.
