The star of TLC’s Darcey & Stacey is officially off the market! Forty-six-year-old Darcey Silva has kept quiet about her engagement to 32-year-old Bulgarian beau Georgi Rusev, but now she’s ready to share the romantic details of his proposal in June.
The Connecticut native and mother of two first interacted with Rusev on the internet before meeting in person in Miami for a Super Bowl event in February 2020. Their relationship, which is featured on TLC’s new show Darcey & Stacey, quickly got serious when Rusev moved in with Silva to quarantine together during the coronavirus pandemic. However, the House of Eleven designer began to have doubts about her Eastern European man when he revealed that he was still legally married to his wife, from whom he had previously separated. Thankfully, the pair seem to have moved past any lingering trust issues and are ready to take the next step in their relationship – marriage!
In an exclusive with Us Weekly, Silva and Rusev shared intimate photos from their special day. Before popping the question, Rusev took Silva on a romantic sunset boat ride where the pair snuggled and enjoyed the sights. Then, Rusev pulled out a cushion-cut ring and proposed to his lady love, who threw her arms up in the air in celebration before planting a kiss on her new fiancé. The photo spread also included a close-up snapshot of Silva’s new sparkler, which perfectly complemented her signature acrylic manicure.
TLC fans were first introduced to Darcey Silva and her twin sister, Stacey, on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. Season one featured Silva’s tumultuous relationship with Amsterdam-based personal trainer and model Jesse Meester. Due to the couple’s age difference, social media drama, and Meester’s controlling behavior, the pair broke up after two years together. Darcey then returned for season three with new British beau Tom Brooks, who secretly proposed to Silva but was turned down. The former couple returned briefly for season four, where they officially broke things off in New York City.
Following their breakout popularity on the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, the Silva twins earned their own spinoff series, Darcey & Stacey. So far, the show’s debut season has featured family drama, coronavirus concerns, and Stacey’s secret wedding to her Albanian fiancé Florian Sukaj. Teasers for upcoming episodes feature Rusev purchasing a ring and debating whether or not to propose to Silva.
