Video game distribution website Good Old Games (GOG.com) recently announced the addition of two new games to their Games in Development schedule: Secret Government and Dead Age 2. Both games are also currently being offered at a 10% discount until July 23rd, 2020.
GOG.com’s Games in Development program offers early access to games that are active works in progress, meaning they are as yet unfinished, but in the final stages of their development. The games are playable, but still may get major improvements or new features added. It’s GOG.com’s way of allowing gamers to check out games at a reduced price ahead of their final release date.
Secret Government is a historical grand strategy sim developed by Game Trek Ltd. and published by 1C Entertainment (IL-2 Sturmovik, King’s Bounty). Secret Government places you in charge of the Brotherhood, a centuries-old secret society that has been manipulating mankind from the shadows for hundreds of years. Your goal is to remain unseen while influencing present and future generations to set fate to your will.
Secret Government’s early access gameplay features the time period of England’s Glorious Revolution (November 1688 to May 1689), where you will lead the Brotherhood against a hostile secret organization while also trying to rebuild the world as you see fit. Like a grand, worldwide chess game, you’ll be able to leverage government and military officials into using their abilities to do your will. You’ll have to deftly out-think, out-plan, and out-maneuver your secret nemesis and the inexorable march of time to see that the Brotherhood is able to write the history of the world.
Dead Age 2 (by Headup Games and Silent Games) is a turn-based survival RPG, the sequel to 2016’s Dead Age, that places you in the zombie apocalypse 10 years after the initial outbreak. A cure for the zombie plague has been created in Freedom City, and the Military, Smugglers, and Independent factions are all trying to gain control of it and the surrounding region.
Dead Age 2 has improved the combat system of the original game, increasing the total number of skills per character to 24, and allowing you to switch their battle tactics instantly according to the enemy type they’re fighting. Your characters can also be armed with a supply of new weapons, set up and use turrets, and can bring hunting dogs and tigers into the fray. The reputation system has also been improved, and over 80 new world map and indoor locations can be explored, including hospitals, bunkers, schools, malls, and army supply stores.
Secret Government and Dead Age 2 in-development versions are DRM-free on GOG.com.
