Deathloop features a plethora of tricky puzzles for players to solve, including the Pact of Smoke door codes puzzle. The Updaam smoking contest puzzle starts after players venture into the small room outside Colt’s apartment. Follow the pipes along the floor to find a machine that has three mouthpieces connected to it. This smoking contest machine is the key to retrieving all the Smoke door codes.
Leave the smoking contest machine alone and go back to Updaam during the afternoon. Return to the smoking contest machine in the small room to find a new audio log and notes from the eternalist named Cass. These notes give players the first secret password needed to complete the Pact of Smoke door codes puzzle. Compared to other hidden secrets in the game, the door codes are straightforward finds.
Return to the smoking contest machine in Updaam during the morning. Keep pressing the button until the green light is next to the red wire. Exit the level to continue solving the puzzle. Next, travel to Karl’s Bay in the afternoon and head left at the exit of the tunnel. Head up the road past the Forever Young mural and the Gardens of Perception façade. Head down the stairs and go inside the open door on the right. Inside this building, there is another note that holds the second Pact of Smoke door code. This point in the mission is a good time to take a break, since players have a tendency to get addicted to Deathloop.
Solving The Pact Of Smoke Door Codes Puzzle In Deathloop
Exit this Deathloop level and travel back to Updaam during the morning. Head back to the smoking contest machine in the small room. Press the buttons on the smoking contest machine until the green light is next to the blue wire. Exit the level again and head to Karl’s Bay during the afternoon.
Once players go past the Gardens of Perception façade, head around the corner to the right. Go over the rooftop and turn around to spot the building named “Best of Blackreef.” Inside the Best of Blackreef building, by the wall of TVs illuminating the room, players will find the last Pact of Smoke door code to complete the puzzle. Finally, return to Updaam in the morning, afternoon, or evening to retrieve the smoking contest prize. Enter the Pact of Smoke door codes into the smoking contest machine to open the locked door and grab the prize. Although the prize does not hold much value outside of the backstory and lore of Deathloop, it is still a reward worthy of players’ efforts.
