The weapon range in Bungie’s Destiny 2 is quite wide and it’s sometimes hard to tell what you should go for, keep, or dismantle. It’s always great having a guide to make things easier and, given that the Nameless Midnight is one of the most searched weapons from the game nowadays, despite being quite old, we’re at your service.

What Is The Nameless Midnight And How Do You Get It?

The Nameless Midnight is a great scout rifle to have in your arsenal. It used to be one of the best scout rifles available, as well as a favorite before the Forsaken expansion was released but it’s still not a bad weapon to own.

As one of the original vanguard rifles, the legendary weapon could be obtained as a reward from Commander Zavala alongside the Origin Story and the Nightshade for completing the Strikes Milestone. It could also be purchased from Zavala with Vanguard Tactician Tokens and Legendary Shards.

What Should You Do With The Nameless Midnight?

This piece of weaponry uses primary ammo and slots in with your Kinetics. As mentioned above, it’s probably worth keeping, but you could always dismantle it for extra glimmer, Gunsmith Materials, and Legendary Shards. The latter comes in very handy when Xur shows up in various locations as you could use them to purchase some of the coolest exotics the game has to offer.

On the off-chance you aren’t familiar with Xur, he’s a pretty useful associate. The Agent of the Nine is a vendor in the game, but he only comes around on a Friday and he’s gone by Tuesday. He sells exotics; Legendary Shards are his currency of choice, but he isn’t always in the same spot and you will probably need to refer to an online resource such as whereisxur.com to get the drop on his location every week.

Nameless Midnight’s Perks & Mods

The weapon’s perks include the Precision Frame, which makes its recoil pattern predictably more vertical, Explosive Payload rounds that give off an area-of-effect detonation upon impact, and a Red Dot 2 MOA with snapshot sight and short zoom that increase both range and reload speed. There’s also the Flared Magwell, which is optimized for fast reloading and increased stability.

As far as mods go, a Kinetic Damage Mod should leave your Nameless Midnight in the best shape, as it increases the weapon’s attack. There’s also the Vanguard Masterwork and the Crucible Masterwork for those of you who love seeing those stats. These mods will generate orbs from multi-kills and give the weapon a tracker that shows the number of enemy kills, with the latter displaying the number of Crucible kills, as the name suggests.

How Good Is The Nameless Midnight?

This gun was probably the perfect all-around weapon before Forsaken. It was great for PvP, PvE, and just about anything else you’d need a weapon for in Destiny 2. Nowadays, though, it’s hardly a go-to scout weapon, as there are more impressive ones available in the game.

Our suggestion would have to be the Polaris Lance. This scout rifle is a favorite among PvP players and has an awesome perk called The Perfect Fifth that sees your precision hits return ammo to your magazine while precision hits trigger a delayed Sonar round as the fifth shot.
