If you’re a Nintendo Switch owner and eager to try out Dragon Quest XI S, then you’re in luck.

Nintendo has announced the demo for the upcoming JRPG is now available for download. The full Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition title will be released on Switch in late September, so this gives you plenty of time to see if it’s worth a purchase. Even better news is that any progress you make in the demo will carry over to the full game, eliminating the need for a replay.

You can download the demo via the Nintendo eShop. Giving players the ability to carry over their progress is incredibly convenient, and a great way to further entice consumers to check out the latest Dragon Quest title.

Square Enix first announced this demo earlier in August. According to several reports, if you do carry over your progress from the demo to the full game, you’ll get the chance to spend a bonus Skill Seed item. They’re valuable because these Skill Seeds are used to gain skill points, which are spent on new abilities. Another freebie that’s being thrown in with the demo is a premium card featuring the Luminary for Dragon Quest Rivals.

Dragon Quest XI first launched last year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. This Switch port features plenty of extra content not included in the original release. Switch owners can look forward to taming and riding new monster mounts and trying out new costumes.

The Switch port also has a crossover with Dragon Quest X not featured in the original version of the game. One of the main characters, Erik, will also have access to a brand new costume deigned by Fairy Tail’s Hiro Mashima. Dragon Quest XI’s main protagonist was added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a DLC character not too long ago as well. Interest in the long-running JRPG franchise has never been higher.

Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition will be available on Nintendo Switch starting on September 27.
