Nintendo has revealed the release date for a few new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Amiibo, including everyone’s favorite Animal Crossing character. Isabelle, along with Pokémon Trainer and Pichu, will be releasing on July 26th.

Aside from these three characters, fans are still waiting for a number of new character Amiibo. Snake and Simon Belmont were announced in February, but they still do not have a specific release date. With the arrival of Joker, players are anticipating the inevitable Joker Amiibo as well. Unlike other toys-to-life products, Amiibo are here for the long haul thanks to Smash Bros. It seems like Amiibo are still popular as well. The Piranha Plant Amiibo released just two months ago and is already sold out at many of the big retailers.

Collecting all of the Amiibo for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is proving to be a daunting (and expensive) task for players. Thankfully, all Amiibo that were made for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U are compatible with Ultimate. Although you can’t unlock fighters with Amiibo, scanning them will create a “figure fighter,” which you can enhance with spirits. Since several DLC fighters are planned for release through February 2020, the Amiibo announcements probably won’t be stopping anytime soon.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate recently launched its 3.0 update. In it, Stage Builder mode was implemented, giving players the tools to create their own unique stages. A video editor was also added, as well as a new service for the Nintendo Switch Online mobile app. On top of all that, Joker was finally made available for download. The Persona 5 protagonist comes with his own stage and 11 music tracks. For those who like to decorate their Miis, new costumes were made available for purchase, including Persona related outfits as well as Tails and Knuckles from Sonic the Hedgehog.

It has been four months since the release of Ultimate, and momentum has not slowed. There have been a number of notable tournaments, and the game will be featured at EVO in August. With Stage Builder mode, players are now able to showcase their creative work. Combine that with Amiibo, and Ultimate is more than just a game – it’s an event that will continue for years to come.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available on Nintendo Switch.
