Dwayne Johnson officially unveils his full Black Adam costume after teasing it for months on end. Black Adam is a DC movie that has been long in the making, with leading man Johnson trying to bring it to life since 2008. After several production delays, the movie kicked off filming earlier this year with Jaume Collet-Serra at the helm and an impressive cast filling out spots alongside Johnson. Black Adam’s Justice Society of America is comprised of those like Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge, Quintessa Swindell, and Pierce Brosnan. Additionally, the movie features Sarah Shahi and Marwen Kenzari.
Currently scheduled for release in July 2022, Black Adam is being hyped as a game-changer for the entire DCEU. Though originally positioned as a villain the comics, Johnson appears to be keeping Black Adam as an anti-hero for his first big screen outing. The wrestler-turned-actor has repeatedly called Black Adam one of the most powerful figures within the DC universe, and he’s teased his long-awaited debut through countless social media posts. All throughout 2021, Johnson has shared tantalizing peeks at his Black Adam costume, but only now has it been unveiled.
At DC FanDome on Saturday, Johnson’s complete Black Adam suit was finally revealed to fans in a special look at the movie. Johnson was on hand to unveil the Black Adam trailer, which featured his character’s first appearance from the film. At a pivotal moment, Black Adam rises into the air, thus giving fans their first official look at his full costume. Check it out down below.
A costume reveal is always one of the most exciting parts of a superhero’s debut, and Black Adam’s is perhaps one of the most eagerly anticipated reveals of the upcoming DCEU slate. With his face obscured by a hood, Johnson’s Black Adam makes quite an impression in the movie’s first bit of footage, and his costume likely did the same. Some of the finer details can be hard to make out because of the hail of bullets Black Adam is withstanding, but fans can still glimpse etchings on his torso and his trademark lighting bolt right there on his chest.
Once again, Johnson promised that Black Adam will reshape the hierarchy of the entire DCEU during his appearance at DC FanDome, and the character’s arrival in the first trailer certainly supports that. From his thrilling appearance to his impressive powers, Black Adam is not someone people will want to mess with. At the same time, fans will definitely want to see him when he finally hits the big screen next year. This costume reveal has only made the wait more excruciating, but hopefully Johnson will provide more Black Adam teases soon.
