While preparing for her debut on Dancing With The Stars, Kenya Moore has also been busy trying to get her legal battles in order. Days before the premiere of the celebrity dancing competition, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star pleaded to have her divorce records sealed from the public. Moore filed for divorce with her soon-to-be ex-husband Marc Daly in May 2021.
The Bravo star met Daly back in 2016 but the two kept their relationship extremely private. During the season 10 premiere of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, the housewives were both shocked and hurt to discover that Moore and Daly tied the knock on a Caribbean vacation. Throughout the season, the women were persistent to meet Moore’s mystery husband. At the end of season 10 during the “ReMarcable” episode, Daly made his grand entrance on the show and the housewives finally got to meet him in the flesh. Besides having their daughter, Brooklyn Doris Daly, the couple’s marriage was anything but smooth sailing. The two separated in September 2019 before Moore officially filed for divorce in May 2021. During their separation period, Moore was living in her Georgia home while Daly was living in Brooklyn, New York where he runs his restaurants.
Days before the Dancing With The Stars premiere, Moore pleaded to have her divorce records private from the public. According to documents obtained by Radar, Moore claims that the information released will be used to “harass” her in the press. The RHOA star’s attorney wrote that personal information like finances would not be made public in a “normal circumstance” and asked that the same go for Moore’s records. A judge has not yet approved or denied her request.
Moore and Daly’s divorce seems to be far from finalized. Both parents have legal custody over their daughter, however, Kenya holds primary custody over their two-year-old. Daly tried to keep their daughter from appearing on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, arguing that their child has received threats online. The judge denied that order and ruled to allow Brooklyn to appear on the show. Currently, Moore is fighting to keep her possession over her Georgia home that she purchased prior to meeting Daly.
Sadly, Moore’s journey to find “the one” has been rocky. Her previous relationship with Matt Jordan had fans concerned for her safety as it was shown on RHOA that he attempted to break into her home. During her relationship with Daly, the housewives noticed that Moore acted in a submissive nature when he was around. Hopefully, Moore’s time on Dancing With The Stars will add a little light while fighting a dark divorce.
