We’ll be getting some more information about Dying Light 2 in the form of the third installment of the Dying 2 Know web series that will air during Gamescom next week. According to a press release, the show will focus on the parkour elements in Dying Light 2 and will show players how to mix unique parkour abilities into combat.

The show will also go into some of the weaponry and tools you’ll be able to use during your time in The City, the inspirations behind certain weapons, and will also examine some of the factions you’ll meet. The show will be hosted by lead game designer Tymon Smektała and starts on August 26 at 11:00 AM PT / 8:00 PM CEST. If you want to learn more about Dying Light 2 before release, make sure you’re there.

Techland’s shows have always been packed with information, and the developer has been incredibly open with what players can expect from the long-awaited sequel. For example, in addition to its Dying 2 Know series, Techland also uploaded several AMAs to its official YouTube channel which gave us tonnes of facts about the game.

From these AMAs, we learned that the game’s map will be twice the size of the original’s, there will be very little in the way of firearms or vehicles, and that none of the characters from the first game will be making an appearance in Dying Light 2, although they will be referenced.

Dying Light 2 is expected to launch later this year on December 7 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. Techland has also recently confirmed that those who purchase the game on previous generation consoles will be able to upgrade to the next-gen version for free once they finally get their hands on a PS5 or Series X.

As for the rest of Gamescom, the event fully kicks off on August 24 with Opening Night Live, a big showcase full of reveals, gameplay trailers, and new information. Geoff Keighley will be hosting the event, and publishers such as Xbox, Bandai Namco, Bethesda will be attending. Don’t expect any news regarding Sony’s first-party games though, as it will be skipping Gamescom just like it did E3.
