Emilia Clarke has ideas for a spin-off series based on her character from Solo: A Star Wars Story. Emilia Clarke has been a part of many major franchises ranging from Game of Thrones, Terminator to recently joining the MCU with the upcoming Secret Invasion. She joined the Star Wars universe in 2018 as Qi’ra, the love interest of a young Han Solo who was last seen departing to meet Crimson Dawn crime boss, Maul, on Dathomir.

Solo: A Star Wars Story was the first Star Wars film in history to bomb at the box office, and plans for a sequel were canceled. Disney started rethinking their approach, and spin-off films focused on Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi were reworked into series for Disney+. Even though Solo underperformed at the box office, it has gained a dedicated following who wish to see a follow-up happen, be it a feature film or a show on Disney+, and many stars of the film have an interest in reprising their roles.

During an interview with THR, Clarke spoke about her desire to return to the role of Qi’ra in the Star Wars universe. Clarke put a lot of thought into Qi’ra’s backstory and where her story would eventually go, and she also feels there is much left unfinished about Qi’ra’s story. Clarke says she has so many ideas that she may just pitch them to Disney+ for a series. Read what Clarke said below:

She’s the one that has the most unfinished business…I really had pages about what her life was and what it would be afterwards. But I’m afraid I’ve heard nothing of [Disney+] being the case, so maybe I’ll just write it and send it to them. I’ll be like, ‘Hey guys, I’ve got a few ideas.’

Clarke is one of many Solo stars who have expressed interest in reprising their role in another project, including Paul Bettany and Erin Kellyman. Even director Ron Howard has expressed interest in a Solo sequel. While there are currently no known plans for Qi’ra to return in live-action at the moment, the character has recently returned in the Star Wars comic event, War of the Bounty Hunters, which takes place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Clarke was excited to see her character return, and this is a good indicator that Lucasfilm still sees the value and potential in the character.

Even if Disney+ doesn’t order a traditional follow-up to Solo: A Star Wars Story there are still plenty of potential series for Clarke to reprise her role as Qi’ra. It is currently unknown if the upcoming Lando series will follow Billy Dee Williams’s incarnation of the character, Donald Glover’s younger version, or both but with Qi’ra’s history with the character, she could reappear there, although Clarke has admitted she hasn’t been contacted. Depending on if Qi’ra survives the events of the War of the Bounty Hunter comic and she lives past Return of the Jedi, she could also appear in The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, or The Book of Boba: Fett. With Clarke still interested in reprising her role, there is always a chance to see her again in the role.
