Apart from breathtaking views of Paris, Emily Cooper’s amusing hijinks and faux pas, Emily In Paris is full of love, or the delicious potential for it with most characters and Emily. The city of love has couples around every block, and the show is full of some exciting pairings, and some not-so-great pairings as well.

A lot of these couples are not conventional pairings as one would expect, like Antoine and Sylvie who are in an extramarital entanglement. Some of the people have also complicated histories with each other, but those things lend intrigue and excitement to the relationship.

7 Sylvie & Antoine

Antoine aggressively pursued Sylvie despite being married, and the two of them had an affair that went on for years. The power dynamic at play here was skewed heavily in Antoine’s direction, as he was Savoir’s biggest client and could do significant damage to the agency if he decided to leave it.

Despite having a wife and a mistress, Antoine was openly flirtatious with Emily and others in front of Sylvie, who clearly had feelings for him. He seemed to play around with her emotions, which she realized after Catherine took over her and Antoine’s St. Barth’s trip deliberately. That effectively ended their camaraderie and Sylvie, an intelligent character on Emily In Paris, realized she could do better, but not for long.

6 Catherine & Antoine

Maison Lavaux’s owner and another fan of Emily’s, Antoine was actually married and Emily got to know his wife Catherine at the Fourtier event she attended with her team. Antoine had married Catherine when they were very young, and Catherine’s family had invested in his perfume business which blew up and made him “the Nose of France”.

The two didn’t have a conventional husband and wife relationship. In fact, it seemed pretty transactional, and Catherine was aware that Antoine had a mistress and seemed okay with it.

5 Emily & Thomas

Emily In Paris The 7 Best Couples Ranked

Emily met the quintessential French Thomas in “Ringarde,” an episode in which she had been lambasted by Sylvie and Pierre Cadault for being basic. Their flirtation started at the little café that Emily used to frequent, but after a few outings together and some good sex, she realized that Thomas was uppity and condescending, and not the best companion for someone fun and loving like Emily.

He was snobbish about the books and music and cinema that he consumed and Emily indulged in, and this was definitely not a case of opposites attract. He was a great rebound for Emily, though, and she had a decent experience of the Parisian way of loving with Thomas.

4 Emily & Doug

Doug was supposed to be Emily’s long term partner in Chicago, but the couple was mostly quite confusing. They looked like they were very interested in each other in the Pilot episode, but Emily still went ahead and took a life-changing decision without consulting the boyfriend she was smitten with.

Their breakup was an obvious attempt at clearing Emily to wine and dine with men in Paris, but the sudden lack of affection from both ends was shocking. Viewers hope to get answers in season 2 of Emily In Paris about Doug.

3 Camille And Gabriel

Emily In Paris The 7 Best Couples Ranked

On the surface, Gabriel and Camille are the perfect couple. They’re both French, both hail from smaller French towns and moved to Paris to experience the big city life. Camille worked at an art gallery, and Gabriel studied and practiced culinary arts so they had many shared interests.

They were a great looking French couple, but as far as viewers know so far, the two were exclusive but Gabriel was always hitting on Emily, even when Emily didn’t know that he was dating someone else. Lots of fans ship these two on Emily In Paris despite Gabriel’s meandering eyes and lips.

2 Emily & Gabriel

Gabriel and Emily both have been touted to be the worst characters on Emily In Paris because of their sneaking around, flirtations, and secrets kept from Camille, but they’re also undoubtedly one of the most exciting couples on the show. The instant attraction, the sexual tension, and Gabriel’s always available helping hand keeps the momentum going on this entanglement.

Fans absolutely loved it when the two got together in “Cancel Couture”, even if it was the first and last time since Gabriel was supposed to be leaving Paris, and his decision to stay gave them renewed hope for the couple to finally unite.

1 Mathieu & Emily

Pierre Cadault’s nephew, like all the men on Emily In Paris, fell head over heels for the American marketer as soon as he laid eyes on her, even if his uncle had a low opinion of her. They had instant chemistry when they met at the atelier, and Mathieu, so far, doesn’t seem to be dating someone else or isn’t married, thus is one of the few genuine admirers of Emily.

He respectfully took her on a great date, kept things professional for whenever required, and actually seems to like her. The two share an interest in fashion and furthering their brand which would work well for them. They were a great couple together.
