Bounty Battle, the ultimate 2D fighting game with combatants from all over the indie video game world, is now out digitally for Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Xbox One & PC. Retail versions of the game, including a limited Signature Edition, are scheduled for an August 2020 release.
Bounty Battle allows 1-4 players to choose from 30 indie heroes from over 20 indie video games to battle it out with across battle arenas from the heroes’ homeworlds. Each fighting hero comes with their own unique abilities and a Minion companion they can summon to aid them in combat.
Developer Dark Screen Games and publisher Merge Games have brought in a legion of indie heroes from your favorite indie games to take part in Bounty Battle. These games include Awesomenauts, Axiom Verge, Battle Chasers Nightwar, Blocks that Matter, Blubber Busters, The Bug Butcher, Darkest Dungeon, and more.
The premise of the game is that these various indie game worlds became connected by a series of supernatural vortexes that formed across the multiverse. This celestial event chose the most exceptional warriors from each world, allowing a substance called Ethereal Mana to enchant them with mythical powers, and magically place a bounty on each of them. These warrior heroes have been brought to a galactic battlefield where they each must now fight for the fate of the universe.
Bounty Battle features 30 indie video game characters to choose from, each with their own combat style and special attack moves. Five game modes are available, which include a Tutorial, a Training Room, Challenge Mode, Tournament Mode, and a Versus Mode. Players may also choose from a large color palette selection to have their heroes fighting in style.
Bounty Battle may be downloaded now from each platform’s respective digital store: Nintendo Switch, Playstation, Xbox One, and Steam. The physical limited Signature Edition versions for the Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, and Xbox One can be purchased from the Signature Edition Games site when they’re released this August.
