It is all fine and well having a great sword, plenty of potions, and a few signs up your sleeve. But what is vital for any budding Witcher out there taking on The Witcher: Monster Slayer is a great set of armor.

The majority of the armor sets in this mobile game can be purchased from the in-game shop — all for various different prices. The other two armor sets are either unlocked or in your starting inventory. All but one have different effects that you can utilize on your quest to become the best monster slayer out there.

8 Adept’s Armor

There is not a lot to say about the default armor — the Adept’s Armor. Purely a cosmetic piece, this armor set is what your avatar will be wearing once you open up the game. With a leather vest, thick straps, and blatant stitching, this armor would not do a great job of protecting you in real life.

It becomes apparent that using potions becomes vital if you continue to use the Adept’s armor. One potion that would work well is the Swallow potion. When used, this potion will restore 1% of health every second throughout the battle. A Witcher has to start somewhere. Unfortunately, this starter set has no perks.

7 Hermit’s Armor

The Hermit’s armor is the only armor thus far that is unlocked through completing a quest. The quest is as called ‘Sins of our Fathers.’ In this quest, you must break the curse of the hermit’s daughter by venturing out at night and finding the crypt where the curse lies.

Once you have broken the curse, the hermit will give you his armor. This armor, once equipped, will limit the reduction of the critical hit meter upon taking damage by 20 percent. If you are comfortable venturing out at night and completing the quest, this is an armor set that can be unlocked without having to make a dent in your gold.

6 Feline Armor

In need of a small boost to your defense? The Feline amour is a perfect choice. Retailing for 3,400 gold in the shop, this armor will reduce damage received from an unparried hit by 10%.

This armor compliments someone who often misses the chance to parry. Using this armor will take off the edge, giving you more chance to get more hits in to vanquish your foes.

5 Wolven Armor

Crafting and alchemy are fundamental aspects of The Witcher: Monster Slayer. Using components collected from defeated enemies, you can create potions, oils, and bombs to aid you in battle. The Wolven armor will help you in this endeavor.

The armor in question will boost your chances for monsters to drop extra loot by 50%. Found in the shop, the Wolven set costs 6,800 gold. Perhaps, in the long run, the added bonus loot will save on buying potions, bombs, and oils and will overshadow the large price point of the Wolven Armor.

4 Ursine Armor

There is nothing more annoying than filling up that critical hit meter only to miss the parry and lose all that hard work. The Ursine armor is a perfect remedy to this. When equipped, the loss experienced from your critical hit meter when taking damage is reduced by a staggering 80%.

This armor is sold in the shop for only 3,400 gold, making it much more affordable than many of the other armors. Couple the armor with the Feline Steel or Silver swords and gain a build that dishes out more potent fast attacks without the threat of losing that meter for those brutal critical attacks.

3 Kaer Morhen Armor

If you need a way to boost your level quickly, this armor could help. When donning the armor, you can expect to have the experience points you earn in battle increase by 25%. Combine the Kaer Morhen Armor with the sword A’báeth, which also gives a 25% increase to experience points, to boost your chances of reaching that next level.

Make sure you have plenty of gold in the coin purse, as this is the most expensive armor in-game with a price of 12,000 gold. But, if you are willing to pay the price, the Kaer Morhen Armor might just be perfect for you.

2 Griffin Armor

In the heat of battle, the damage you inflict is everything. The more damage you can inflict, the better. With the Griffin armor selected, a successful parry will reflect 10% of the damage you absorb back onto the monster.

The Griffin armor retails for 6,800 gold in the shop. This armor would be perfect for monsters that inflict massive damage. Every little bit helps, especially against the likes of the legendary monsters.

1 Manticore Armor

White Gull potions are a powerful tool in your Witcher toolbelt when hunting down monsters far and wide. Unfortunately, it does not seem that you can craft them. But with the Manticore Armor, White Gull comes built in.

The White Gull potion will improve the effectiveness of other potions you take into battle by 100%. With the Manticore armor, you can guarantee that the potions that you use in battle will be all that more potent.

This armor can be bought in the shop for 6,800 gold — a worthwhile investment for those who are privy to using potions to slay those monsters.
