The 2021 Netflix Summer Preview teases 18 films, so who’s in them and what are they about? The streaming service will release one new movie each week between June 20 and September 22, and seven of those productions currently have set release dates. The Netflix Summer Preview trailer covers various spring releases through April and May, however the summer action officially begins in late June with highly-anticipated 2021 movies.

Netflix released over 30 feature films during the summer of 2020, with several becoming massive mainstream hits. Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga became a popular title thanks to comedic performances by Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams, and ultimately earned an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song (“Husavik”). The Old Guard earned big streaming numbers with its superhero premise and lead performance from Charlize Theron, while The Kissing Booth 2 provided some comfort viewing for locked-down streamers. Other summer movies like Project Power, I’m Thinking of Ending Things, and The Devil All the Time showed that Netflix is serious about making unique films with big industry names.

As the world continues to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, many Netflix subscribers will undoubtedly stay locked into their regular routines. Meanwhile, some fully-vaccinated people may head back to theaters and invest more time in the theatrical experience, and perhaps be more selective with their streaming choices at home. Whatever one’s preference may be, Netflix will indeed be loaded up with high-profile titles. Here’s every new 2021 movie that will release between June 20 and September 22.

Good On Paper | June 23

Good on Paper stars comedian Iliza Shlesinger as Andrea Singer, a stand-up comic who seemingly meets the ideal guy named Dennis. However, Andrea’s best friend Margot decides to investigate whether or not the quirky gentleman could be trouble. Good on Paper was written by Shlesinger, and features supporting performances from Ryan Hansen (Friday the 13th, Veronica Mars), Margaret Cho (Drop Dead Diva, The Masked Singer), and Rebecca Rittenhouse (Unfriended: Dark Web, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood).

The Ice Road | June 25

In The Ice Road, Liam Neeson (The Grey, Taken) stars as a big-rig driver named Mike. When a diamond mine collapses in northern Canada, he leads a rescue mission to saved trapped workers. Written and directed by Jonathan Hensleigh (Armageddon), The Ice Road co-stars Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix, Hannibal), Amber Midthunder (Hell or High Water, Legion), and Holt McCallany (Fight Club, Mindhunter).

America: The Motion Picture | June 30

America: The Motion Picture follows George Washington and Sam Adams as they battle the Brits in a “tongue-in-cheek” take on the American Revolution. The animated Netflix movie was written by Dave Callaham (Wonder Woman 1984, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and directed by Matt Thompson (Cake). America: The Motion Picture features voice performances from Channing Tatum (21 Jump Street, Magic Mike), Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, Star Trek), Judy Greer (Ant-Man, Jurassic World), and Bobby Moynihan (Saturday Night Live, Mr. Mayor).

The House Of Flowers: The Movie (La Casa De Las Flores: La Película) | Confirmed For June

The House of Flowers: The Movie is a spinoff of the eponymous Mexican TV series. In the summer 2021 film, a dying maid named Delia (Norma Angélica) asks her friend Paulina to find a treasure in the former De La Mora family home, which prompts three siblings to investigate. The House of Flowers: The Movie stars Cecilia Suárez (Capadocia), Dario Yazbek Bernal (Daniel & Ana), and Aislinn Derbez (Miss Bala).

Resort To Love | July 29

In Resort to Love, Christina Milian stars as an aspiring pop star named Erica who experiences a career meltdown. She inadvertently reunites with her ex-boyfriend Jason (Jay Pharoah) while performing as a wedding singer at a Mauritius island resort, and tries not to ruin his wedding while coming to grips with her own romantic feelings. Directed by Steven K. Tsuchida (Cobra Kai, Into the Dark), Resort to Love co-stars Alexander Hodge (Tommy, Insecure) and Sinqua Walls (Teen Wolf, Once Upon a Time).

The Last Mercenary (Le Derniere Mercenaire) | July 30

A French action-comedy, The Last Mercenary stars Jean-Claude Van Damme as a former secret service agent who travels to France when his estranged son is falsely accused of arms and drug trafficking. From there, JCVD must deal with various organizations that are mixed up in the focal crimes. The Last Mercenary was directed by David Charhon (Cyprien), and features supporting performances from Eric Judor (H, Platane), Miou-Miou (Dry Cleaning, The Science of Sleep), and Valérie Kaprisky (Breathless, Mouvements du désir).

Blood Red Sky | Confirmed For July

Directed by Peter Thorwarth (Not My Day), Blood Red Sky follows a woman with a mysterious illness who battles terrorists during a transatlantic flight. In the process, she’s forced to confront the truth about her vampire existence. Blood Red Sky stars Peri Baumeister (The Last Kingdom, Skylines) and includes supporting performances from Graham McTavish (Rambo, The Hobbit movie trilogy) and Dominic Purcell (Blade: Trinity, Prison Break).

Trollhunters: Rise Of The Titans | Confirmed For July

Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans picks up after the events of the Tales of Arcadia trilogy, as the heroes of Arcadia defend humanity against the evil Arcane Order. The franchise was created by acclaimed Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, who also produces the 2021 movie. Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans features voice performances from Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead, Minari), Alfred Molina (Magnolia, Spider-Man 2), Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation, Devs), Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild, Speed Racer), Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead, Attack the Block), Diego Luna (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Narcos: Mexico), and Kelsey Grammer (Cheers, Frasier).

The Last Letter From Your Lover | Confirmed For July

Based on Jojo Moyes’ eponymous 2008 novel, The Last Letter from Your Lover was directed by American actress/filmmaker Augustine Frizzell (Euphoria, Sweet Bitter). The storyline follows journalist Ellie Haworth (Star Wars actress Felicity Jones), who discovers secret love letters from 1965 and learns about the lives of industrialist Jennifer Stirling and financial journalist Anthony O’Hare, all the while forming a relationship with an archivist. The Last Letter from Your Lover co-stars Shailene Woodley (Divergent, Big Little Lies), Callum Turner (Green Room, Emma), and Nabhaan Rizwan (1917, Industry).

The Kissing Booth 3 | Confirmed For August

In The Kissing Booth 3, Elle Evans (Joey King) must decide if she wants to attend Harvard on the east coast with boyfriend Noah Flynn (Jacob Elordi) or stay in California with her best friend, Lee Flynn (Joel Courtney), at the University of California, Berkeley. Based on the sequel, Marco Peña (Taylor Zakhar Perez) could potentially influence her decision in The Kissing Booth 3. The third franchise installment co-stars Maisie Richardson-Sellers (The Originals, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) and Molly Ringwald (Sixteen Candles, Riverdale).

He’s All That is a re-make of the 1999 romantic comedy She’s All That starring Freddie Prinze Jr. and Rachel Leigh Cook. Produced by Luca Guadagnino (Call Me by Your Name), Beckett follows a couple who finds trouble while vacationing in Epirus, Greece. The 2021 Netflix movie was directed by Ferdinando Cito Filomarino, who made his feature debut in 2015 with Antonia. Beckett stars John David Washington (BlacKkKlansman, Tenet), Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina, The Danish Girl), Boyd Holbrook (Narcos, Logan), and Vicky Krieps (Phantom Thread, The Girl in the Spider’s Web).

Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed explores the life and times of the titular American painter. Ross is best known for creating The Joy of Painting and hosting from 1983 to 1994. The documentary will presumably cover the painter’s influence on pop culture, along with his personal life and the events that led to his 1995 death at age 52.

Fear Street Trilogy | Confirmed For Summer

Starring Gillian Jacobs (Community), the Fear Street trilogy is based on R.L. Stine’s eponymous book series. Set in 1994, the first Netflix horror movie installment follows various teenagers in Shadyside, Ohio who believe that their strange experiences are somehow connected. Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) co-stars in Fear Street: 1994, Chiara Aurelia (Tell Me Your Secrets, Cruel Summer) has a supporting role in Fear Street: 1978, and Charlene Amoia (How I Met Your Mother, Birds of Prey) co-headlines for Fear Street: 1666.

The Loud House Movie | Confirmed For Summer

Based on the eponymous Nickelodeon series, The Loud House Movie follows the titular protagonists during a trip to Scotland. The family members learn about their royal bloodline, and then live the good life in a Scottish castle. The summer 2021 Netflix movie features voice performances from David Tennant (Doctor Who, Jessica Jones), Grey Griffin (Bumblebee, Kid Cosmic), and Michelle Gomez (The Flight Attendant, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina).
