Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout will be receiving a mobile version in China, which means that the game will likely come to smartphones before it’s ported to the Nintendo Switch or Xbox One. Fall Guys has been one of the surprise hits of 2020 and it’s currently only available on PC and PlayStation 4.

The idea of Fall Guys being ported to other systems seems to be a given, considering that the game isn’t particularly taxing on hardware, has a mass appeal that could endure for years to come, and has a lot of potential for version-exclusive costumes. Fall Guys will likely come to the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One in the future, and it’s a safe bet that it will also be coming to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in the future, assuming that the game’s audience doesn’t abandon it within the next few months.

There are currently no mobile versions of Fall Guy available, despite what scammers on the Internet might say, but a mobile version of Fall Guys is in development for the Chinese market. Danial Ahmad on Twitter has revealed that Chinese gaming company Bilibili now has the rights to publish a mobile version of Fall Guys, which confirms that at least one other version of the game is in development.

It seems likely that the mobile version of Fall Guys will be the next one released, and it will come out before any Switch or Xbox One ports of the game. This isn’t too surprising, considering the incredible size of the mobile market and the potential revenue it has to offer. Pokémon Go has made over 3 billion dollars so far, and Mediatonic and Devolver Digital might have a similar golden egg on their hands with a mobile version of Fall Guys.

It’s possible that the developers of Fall Guys could surprise everyone and announce ports of the game for Switch and Xbox One during the upcoming Season 2 reveal at Gamescom. The Switch and the Xbox One have sold over 100 million consoles combined, but that’s a drop in the bucket compared to the numbers that the mobile market can provide. The game will still almost certainly be ported to the Switch and Xbox One in the future, and gamers will likely have a chance to run around in costumes based on Mario and Master Chief. It’s more a case of “when” than “if”.
