A fan has recreated the first part of Pokémon Red using Fortnite’s Creative Mode and trust us when we tell you, you’re going to want to give this a whirl.

It has been the year of the crossover event for Fortnite so far in 2019. With Marvel and John Wick events in the rearview mirror, and a Stranger Things collab fast approaching, Fortnite’s mainstream infiltration is alive and well. Thanks to the game’s Creative Mode, some crossovers don’t require us to wait until Epic gets around to them.

How about a Fortnite x Pokémon event? Officially, there is nothing planned and it might well never happen. Unofficially, you can play it right now. That’s because FiveWalnut8586 has created the first part of Pokémon Red’s map in painstaking detail. It has taken them two months to do so and you click the post below to take a look at the finished product.

As with Pokémon Red, your journey begins in Pallet Town. Your first job is to find Oak’s lab and pick a starter Pokémon, or weapon in this case. Once that’s done, you can explore a little and appreciate exactly how much work has gone into this project. Venture through Viridian Forest and make your way to Pewter City, just like we did on our GameBoys in the late 1990s.

Once you reach Pewter City, you will even be faced with a gym battle. While Brock might not be there, his Onix is. To defeat the Onix, aim for the head, as the video above demonstrates. After that, you can head to the final part of the map. Mt. Moon. That’s where you’ll encounter Team Rocket. Since there are no Pokémon in Fortnite for them to capture, you’ll find that the caves are filled with caged llamas.

We’ve watched the clip above five times already and still can’t get over how detailed this map is. We have seen some great fan-made creations in Fortnite, but this is our favorite by far. The best news of all is that you can try it for yourself. The map’s code is 2911-4244-1867. Plus, the even better news is that it seems as if there is more to come, especially since the map’s creator has labeled the above “part one.”
