In Far Cry 6 Vaas Insanity Weapon Rarities determine the amount of damage a weapon will do and how many Attachments or Perks a weapon can have. There are a total of 5 Rarity Levels and they are defined by Star rating and color. 1-Star = White Rarity, 2-Star = Green Rarity, 3-Star = Blue Rarity, 4-Star = Purple Rarity, and 5-Star = Yellow Rarity.
Here is an example of how Weapon Rarities work, a 1-Star White Rarity 1911 Pistol will have the lowest amount of base damage and no perks or attachments. When tested on a regular enemy, it can take up to 4-5 shots to the body to defeat him. While a 5-Star Yellow Rarity 1911 Pistol with 4x the base damage, Sight Attachment, Front Barrel Attachment, and up to 4 additional Perks, will defeat the same regular enemy in 1-2 shots to the body.
In Far Cry 6: Vaas Insanity, 1-Star White Rarity Weapons in Far Cry 6 cannot be found while exploring. They are bought from The Armory for a cheap price after unlocking their respective Weapon Case. The only weapons that can be found while exploring are 2-Star Green Rarity Weapons, which are rewarded to the player for successfully completing a Gun Show Challenge.
How Weapon Rarities Change the Difficulty in Far Cry 6 Vaas Insanity
Weapon Rarities are classified by how much damage boost each Rarity has when upgrading a weapon at The Armory. Here is a basic list summarizing damage boost for each Rarity Type in Far Cry 6 Vaas Insanity.
Damage Boost based on Weapon Rarity:
- White Rarity = 0x Damage Boost, Base Damage
- Green Rarity = 1x Damage Boost, Regular Damage
- Blue Rarity = 2x Damage Boost, Double Damage
- Purple Rarity = 3x Damage Boost, Triple Damage
- Yellow Rarity = 4x Damage Boost, Quadruple Damage
Rarities are important when facing challenging objectives in Far Cry 6 Vaas Insanity, these objectives can be identified on the Main Map by using the Difficulty Bar. An objective with a Red Difficulty Bar is classified as challenging. The best Rarity to use are 5-Star Yellow Rarity Weapons, but players can still use 3-Star Blue Rarity Weapons to complete these objectives but will be a much harder challenge.
Challenging Objectives Which Need Higher Rarity Weapons:
- Memory Mission “Birthright“
- Memory Mission “Radioplay“
- Memory Mission “You Hit The Ground“
- Trial “Pain“
- Trial “Survival“
- Trial “Endurance“
- Gun Show: Grenade Launcher
- Gun Show: Rifle
- Gun Show: SMG
Rarities on weapons can also determine how many Far Cry 6 Attachments and Perks each weapon will have in The Armory. Here is a brief summary of upgrades provided for each Weapon Category.
- Primary Weapons will receive a Sight Attachment, A Laser Sight Attachment, Front Barrel Attachment, and 4 perks. The Shotgun Case is an exception, as it does not have a Sight Attachment, so it will receive more perk abilities than the other Primary Weapon Cases.
- Secondary Weapons will receive a Sight Attachment, A Laser Sight Attachment, Front Barrel Attachment, and 4 perks. The Pistol and Auto-Pistol Cases are exactly the same, except for Full-Auto and Burst firing modes on Auto-Pistols and Semi-Auto for Pistols.
- Specialist Weapons will receive a Sight Attachment, A Laser Sight Attachment, Front Barrel Attachment, and 4 perks. The M-79 and Bow Case are special, as they do not have either a Sight, Laser Sight, or Front Barrel Attachment slot, so they can be equipped with all 4 perks.
