FF7 Remake Intergrade’s Yuffie DLC Will Introduce New Materia & Summons

Yuffie is going to have access to new magic spells in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, as her DLC chapters will include new Materia and summons. FF7 Remake Intergrade is the upcoming PS5 update for FF7 Remake, which will be free for anyone who purchased the original version of the game (but not to those who claimed it via PlayStation Plus).
FF7 Remake Intergrade will add two DLC chapters to the game, which star Yuffie from FF7. The gameplay trailer for the PS5 upgrade has revealed that Yuffie has entered Midgar in search of ultimate Materia, which she believes is in the possession of the Shinra Corporation. Yuffie teams up with a fellow warrior from Wutai and the two form an alliance with Avalanche, as they hunt for this all-powerful Materia.
The trailer for FF7 Remake Intergrade has revealed that Yuffie will play differently from Cloud thanks to her ability to throw and reclaim her weapon. She will also have access to new magical abilities and spells. Co-director Tetsuya Nomura told Famitsu that the Yuffie DLC will add new Materia and summons to the game, though he didn’t specify which ones. Nomura also confirmed that the new Materia and summons will only be accessible in the Yuffie chapters and can’t be used in the main storyline.
FF7 Remake changed how summons were acquired, which was a necessity, as they weren’t introduced until after the party left Midgar in the original game. FF7 Remake’s summons include Ifrit, Choco/Mog, Shiva, Fat Chocobo, Leviathan, and Bahamut. It’s likely that Ramuh will be one of the new summons introduced in FF7 Remake Intergrade, as it’s next on the list of summons after Ifrit in Final Fantasy 7. The Ramuh Materia was found on the floor of the Gold Saucer in the original, so there’s plenty of room to expand its presence in the remakes.
There are lots of options for new Materia to be added to FF7 Remake, as most of the Materia from the original version of the game hasn’t returned yet. There is also the Materia from games like Crisis Core to consider, as well as brand new Materia that are tailored around the new combat system. The same is also true of the summons, as there is no reason why the developers should stick to the list from FF7. The Final Fantasy series has featured numerous summons over the years and it would be awesome to see some of them appear in Intergrade.
