Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s Intermission DLC weighs in at a little less than 9GB, bringing the total size of the PS5 version of the game to more than 90GB.
A busy weekend for big releases is almost upon us. Thursday will bring with it Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, and the next day marks the arrival of Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. There’s not much more to find out about the games at this point short of actually playing them, barring how much room they are going to take up on your consoles.
It was previously reported that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will actually be a little smaller than the PS4 version of the game. 81GB on PS5 versus 86GB on PS4. This isn’t out of the ordinary thanks to the PS5’s SSD, and it also doesn’t include a day one patch. Last but not least, it also doesn’t account for the Intermission DLC.
The numbers are in, and Yuffie’s Intermission expansion will take up an additional 9GB on top of the 81GB Intergrade will already take up. 8.988GB to be exact, which means the whole thing will actually clock in at a little more than 90GB. That’s a lot of room, but the whole game combined with its two new chapters is pretty extensive and detailed.
The whole process surrounding the Intermission expansion has left some people a little confused, and others are even a bit ticked off. The reveal that it will be nothing more than a download code in physical copies of Intergrade hasn’t sat well with those who plan on picking up a copy. It means the game will have very little resale value on the pre-owned market since the code the game came with will have been used.
As for those of you who already own Final Fantasy 7 Remake on PS4 and will be entitled to the PS5 upgrade for free, Intermission will not be included. It can be bought from the PlayStation Store for an additional $19.99 though, no need to pay $70 for the whole game, most of which you already own. Also, in case you didn’t already know, those of you who downloaded Final Fantasy 7 Remake for free via PS Plus back in March will not be eligible for the free upgrade.
