All of the versions of Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age are now equal, as the PC and PlayStation 4 versions of the game have received updates that have added in the content from the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One versions that were released later.
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is an HD remaster of the International Zodiac Job System version of Final Fantasy XII that was only released in Japan, with a few new added features thrown in. The Zodiac Age is considered to be the definitive edition of the game, as it’s filled with new content that wasn’t available in Final Fantasy XII on the PlayStation 2 and it can even be played on the go with the Nintendo Switch version of the game.
The Zodiac Age was released for the PlayStation 4 in 2017 and on Steam in 2018. The game was later released for the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One, but those versions of The Zodiac Age came with new features. According to Gematsu, the PC and PlayStation 4 versions of The Zodiac Age have been updated to add in the new features from the other versions of the game.
The new features that were present in the Switch and Xbox One ports of The Zodiac Age include the ability to reset a character’s chosen job by visiting Montblanc. The player will also be able to choose from three Gambit sets at a time. The PlayStation 4 version of the game lets players select “OST” from the Music menu, while the PC version of the game has removed the Denuvo DRM.
The ability to switch classes in The Zodiac Age is a huge deal, as some players would regret their initial class choices when going through the game for the first time. Now that all versions of The Zodiac Age are equal, all players are free to experiment with different character classes and parties without needing to play through the opening section of the game.
