One of those changes was Thomas Wayne becoming Batman. The Dark Knight watched his son get murdered by Joe Chill and saw Matha Wayne lose control and become the Joker. After meeting Earth-0’s Batman, Thomas encouraged him to stop being a vigilante and focus on his family. In Tom King’s Batman run, Thomas returned and tried to break Batman into giving up the role – but failed.

In DC’s Infinite Frontier #4 by Joshua Williamson, Paul Pelletier, Jesus Merino, Xermancio, Norm Rapmund, Raul Fernandez, Hi-Fi, and Tom Napolitano, Flashpoint Batman continues his adventures with the Justice Incarnate, who learn something his afoot after finding Earth-23’s Lex Luthor murdered. As President Superman is denied key information from Harbinger about leads in the case, Batman asks to see Bruce Wayne. Flashpoint Batman sees different versions of his son from across the Multiverse and finally understands he’s a true hero. He admits he was a “foolish and scared old man” and that telling him not be Batman was wrong.

Unfortunately, as Thomas Wayne realizes Bruce will always be Batman, Machinehead betrays the Justice Incarnate and hits Flashpoint Batman with a powerful energy blast. Machinehead reveals he’s assembled his own team who intend on keeping parts of the Multiverse separate from one another, leading to the debut of the Injustice Incarnate.

Sadly, Flashpoint Batman’s realization that his son is a hero across the Multiverse is interrupted by the surprise of the villainous Injustice Incarnate. Still, even in a dour situation, Thomas Wayne finally understands Bruce was meant to be a hero. Infinite Frontier has worked hard at rehabilitating Flashpoint Batman into a hero, and with him finally understanding his son’s true purpose, he’s on the path to redemption. However, in order to see that redemption come to fruition, the Justice Incarnate will have to stop the Injustice Incarnate from messing with the Multiverse. Can Flashpoint Batman and the team stop them? Infinite Frontier #4 is in comic book stores now.
