Teasers have been showing up for Chapter 2 Season 2 of Fortnite all over the world, giving players a number to call for new clues.
The current season of Fortnite has been one unlike any other. It makes sense since it is the first season of a whole new chapter in the game. It has lasted longer than any other season before it and has also been less eventful. On top of all that, Epic doesn’t seem to be building to a catastrophic end of season event as has become customary during previous Fortnite seasons.
Since the end date of this season has been changed a couple of times, we guess that makes sense. How can a grand finale be built to if the ones doing the building aren’t sure when it that finale will arrive? Well, with just three days to go until what has been promised will be the official beginning of Chapter 2 Season 2, the tease appears to be in full swing.
Like the rest of this season, the tease for the next one is unlike anything players will have seen before. Cryptic ads for the new season have been showing up all over the world. They feature a gold hand over the word Fortnite and a phone number at the bottom. It’s a real phone number, and the message at the other end, when called, seems to change depending on which country the number is called from.
A player who called the number in Brazil heard a message in Portuguese, which translated to something about agents being called and access to the safe being purchased. In the US, the message mentions an “oil rig operation.” Speculation is that the safe might refer to the vault players found at Loot Lake earlier this season, and the oil rig might be a new location coming to the map.
The very latest teaser from Fortnite was posted on its Twitter account. It once again features the gold handprint that can be seen on the ads popping up around the world. Seems as if gold is going to play a big part in Chapter 2 Season 2. There’s even a theory that gold might be introduced as a building material. With the new season set to launch this Thursday, players don’t have long to wait to find out what all this is about.
