Television shows love to include holiday-themed episodes. They’re festive celebrations and some of the best moments happen during these episodes. This includes the popular 1980’s and early ‘90’s family comedy, Full House.

Whether the Tanner family was celebrating Christmas, attempting to cook a Thanksgiving meal, ringing in the new year, or falling in love on Valentine’s Day, there was a holiday episode for every occasion. Like every show, some episodes were better than others. Here are the ten best holiday episodes, ranked by IMDb. If you’re going to celebrate the holidays with anyone, it might as well be the Tanner family.

10 Dateless In San Francisco (6.8)

Full House featured Valentine’s Day just as much as the show celebrated Christmas. In the season eight episode “Dateless in San Francisco,” everyone is preparing for Valentine’s Day. Michelle is nervous about her classroom’s Valentine’s Day party with her “boyfriend,” Teddy. Can they be a couple, or are they better as friends?

At home, Becky is worried that Jesse is no longer romantic with her. The “heat” is out of their marriage. But all the trouble ends when Jesse surprises her with a romantic hot air balloon ride over San Francisco. Have mercy!

9 The Heartbreak Kid (6.8)

Every little girl develops a crush on an older, attractive man. In Michelle’s case, this was D.J.’s high school boyfriend, Steve. In the season six episode “The Heartbreak Kid,” everyone is baking Valentine’s Day cookies when Michelle develops a crush on Steve. She decides she is going to marry him.

Everyone thinks Michelle is just pretending, so they throw a wedding for her and Steve. However, she’s upset when she finds out it wasn’t a real wedding. Danny admits that adults forget that children have feelings. This wasn’t the best Valentine’s Day for Michelle.

8 It’s Not My Job (6.8)

Full House only had one Halloween-themed episode, which took place in the season two. The episode was called “It’s Not My Job.” Halloween isn’t the primary focus of the episode. It’s featured in the episode’s opening teaser where the Tanners are dressed for a Halloween costume party.

Stephanie is dressed as The White Rabbit from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. D.J. is dressed as Cleopatra. Danny, Jesse, and Joey are dressed as the Three Stooges, and Michelle is an adorable pumpkin. The episode focuses on Jesse’s desire to leave his family business, but the opening scene is too adorable.

7 Arrest Ye Merry Gentlemen (7.1)

In the season eight Christmas episode “Arrest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” Michelle buys Danny a plastic party tie with a cup holder. When she overhears that it’s a terrible gift, Jesse takes her to the novelty shop she got the tie from to exchange the gift for something else.

The episode is loosely based on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. The owner of the shop, Mr. Greghorn (Mickey Rooney), is a scrooge and he traps them in the shop when he thinks they’re trying to shoplift. It turns out that he misses his family. Jesse and Michelle find a way into Mr. Greghorn’s heart and he even dresses up as Santa Claus when he visits the Tanner family for Christmas dinner.

6 A Very Tanner Christmas (7.1)

There’s more drama in the season six Christmas episode, “A Very Tanner Christmas.” Becky mentions that she misses when it snowed on Christmas in Nebraska, her native state. He tries to cheer her up, but she doesn’t have much holiday spirit.

Meanwhile, Steve tells D.J. that he was accepted to Daytona Beach College in Florida. She’s happy for him, but she isn’t too excited that he will move 3,000 miles away. This leads to a fight between the happy couple. It doesn’t seem like a merry Christmas, but the episode ends happily when D.J. reunites with Steve and Jesse surprises Becky with a backyard full of fake snow. Happy holidays, Tanners!

5 Happy New Year (7.1)

It’s time to ring in a new year with the season four episode, “Happy New Year.” Everyone is ready to celebrate the holiday, but Joey is upset that he doesn’t have a date. He’ll be the only person who doesn’t have someone to kiss at midnight. So, Danny and Jesse advertise Joey on a local video dating service. He meets Christine and he thinks he finally met “the one.”

He suggests they elope, and she agrees to the idea. Danny and Jesse help convince him that he needs to take some more time to get to know Christine. Joey and Christine agree, but the show never mentions Christine again.

4 Little Shop Of Sweaters (7.1)

In the season two episode “Little Shop of Sweaters,” it’s Valentine’s Day and Danny buys his daughters gifts for the fun holiday. D.J. received an expensive royal blue sweater she had been wanting. However, it’s shredded during school recess, but D.J. doesn’t want to tell her dad.

Thinking she’s an “adult” and more responsible than her age, D.J. decides to replace the sweater. When they go to the mall, Stephanie misunderstands a sign about a credit card. She doesn’t know how credit cards work. She only knew that you “buy now and pay later.” She steals the sweater, resulting in a hilarious episode.

3 The Miracle Of Thanksgiving

In the first holiday-themed episode of the show, “The Miracle of Thanksgiving,” Danny tries to have a good first Thanksgiving since Pam was killed in a car accident. His mother is supposed to visit the family and cook dinner, but she’s delayed in Tacoma, Washington. So, it’s up to everyone else to cook the Thanksgiving feast.

It ends horribly. D.J. forgets to defrost the turkey. Stephanie drops the pumpkin pie. It seems like a disaster, but Danny reminds his daughters that Pam knew that the true meaning of Thanksgiving wasn’t about food. It was about family, and they end up having a fun meal anyway.

2 Our Very First Christmas Show (7.2)

Imagine planning a family reunion during Christmas. It’s close to impossible, but Danny decided to fly the whole family to Colorado in the season two episode, “Our Very First Christmas Show.” Stephanie is anxious that Santa Claus won’t know where she is for Christmas. Jesse flirts with Becky, who is on her way home to Nebraska.

It’s a fun trip until they’re stranded overnight in an airport due to a winter snowstorm. There won’t be any presents. Santa Claus probably won’t be able to find them. Everyone is upset—until Jesse reminds them that at least they’re all together. Isn’t that what’s most important?

1 The Wedding (Part 2) (7.8)

It was the episode everyone had been waiting for: Jesse and Becky’s wedding. In the season four two-part episode, “The Wedding,” it seems Jesse and Becky will finally make it to the altar, but there are some complications along the way.

For one thing, Jesse is arrested after skydiving on his wedding day. In the second part of the special, everyone has to stall the wedding while Becky bails him out of prison. They make it to the chapel, recite their vows (on Valentine’s Day!), and promise to love each other “forever.”
