Galaxy Tab S7 Vs S7 Is Samsungs Plus Tablet Worth The Extra $200

Both the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and the S7+ are fantastic tablets, with the former starting at $650 and the latter at $850, but is paying the extra $200 for the S7+ worth it? Released last midway through last year, the two mark 10 years since the first Galaxy Tab was released in 2010, which shipped with a 7-inch screen, 3G connectivity, and a maximum capacity of 32 gigabytes. Thankfully, Samsung’s tablets are continually improving with every new generation.

Both the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ released have plenty of features that make them competitive with the best tablet on the market, Apple’s iPad Pro. Even if they are not quite at that level, the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ are by far the best Android tablets in the market. Among their selling points are 5G connectivity, S Pen support, 120Hz displays, and quad-speaker audio with AKG and Dolby Atmos tech.

Of course, the main factor for coughing up an extra $200 for the Galaxy Tab S7+ is to get more screen. For comparison, the Galaxy Tab S7+ has a 12.4-inch display while the Galaxy Tab S7 has an 11-inch display. On paper, the additional 1.4-inches may not seem like a big deal, however, imagine purchasing a laptop that has an 11-inch screen. This is a more pertinent comparison than ever because the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ can run software that was only reserved for laptops and desktops in the past. Samsung’s Book Cover Keyboard works effortlessly with the Galaxy Tab S7+. Pair that with a Bluetooth mouse and the Galaxy Tab S7+ will deliver a computer-like experience. Samsung also sells a Book Cover Keyboard for the Galaxy Tab S7, but there are no function keys on that version, and the slightly smaller screen can be limiting. For users that have no intention of using the Galaxy Tab S7+ for productivity, the Galaxy Tab S7 is arguably the better choice because it is more portable and has the same internal hardware. But the Galaxy Tab S7+ will also provide an enhanced entertainment experience.

Galaxy Tab S7+: The Best Display On A Tablet

As mentioned, tablets have become powerful tools for getting work done. In the past, tablets were simply thought of as smartphones with larger screens. However, even with the leap in productivity, there is no question that tablets are mainly used to consume entertainment. While the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ share the same innards, Samsung enhanced the display on the Galaxy Tab S7+ to make it the best on any tablet. The Galaxy Tab S7+ has a Super AMOLED display, which is also found on some Galaxy smartphones and is revered for its wide color gamut. In comparison, the Galaxy Tab S7 has a standard LCD display, which is still good but not great. There is no better way to play mobile games or to watch Netflix when traveling than on the Galaxy Tab S7+. For productivity, its enhanced display is also beneficial as editing photos and videos on the tablet guarantees color accuracy.

It is a fairly simple decision when choosing between the two models. Paying the extra $200 means a larger, superior display. But, as seen with years of previous-generation iPhones, a great display is not important to consumers. It is the combination of fantastic hardware and intuitive software that make a tablet worthwhile, and the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ deliver on both.
