SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated has all the ingredients of a successful video game. It boasts a hilarious cast of characters, a diverse set of levels, and just enough of a difficulty curve to keep players on their toes. But, most importantly, it has an NPC that rips massive dabs while rocking out to Bikini Bottom’s latest hits.

The character in question is located just below the peak of Mount Spork, home of the King Jellyfish. You’d think the unknown NPC — he’s never given a name but looks a bit like Gus or Jimmy from the cartoon — would be concerned for his safety, seeing as how there’s a dangerous jellyfish just a few steps away. Instead, they’ve blocked out the world with a pair of headphones and are dancing around like a fool.

If players approach the NPC and linger around them for a while, the NPC will actually start dabbing. Dabbing has been a thing for ages, and nearly four years ago the Dabbing Squidward meme emerged from the internet. We’re yet to see the uptight squid pull off a dab himself in Battle for Bikini Bottom, but it’s hilarious that the developers snuck in the meme-able move on such a lowkey NPC.

Better yet, SpongeBob seems horrified of the dabber’s dancing technique. The loveable sponge can be seen closing his eyes and shaking in fear when close to the other character. Granted, he’s probably just spooked that he’s about to tangle with the King Jellyfish — but we’d like to think he’s mortified that this low-class fish stole Squidward’s trademarked moves.

Battle for Bikini Bottom is a love letter to fans of the animated series. It’s a wonderful romp through the aquatic playland, and these little details only elevate the experience. It took us all of an hour to stumble upon this crazy dabbing citizen, and we can’t wait to see what else the game has in store.
