The Genshin Impact 2.3 Special Program went live on November 12 to announce the playable characters to be released and major additions in the new update. The 2.3 update will be featuring a variety of exciting events and story quests to look forward to. As usual in every miHoYo livestream, the information presented about the update is extremely detailed. Here’s a rundown of everything to know about the latest additions coming to Genshin Impact 2.3

The Genshin Impact livestream has also made an announcement regarding the 2.3 release date, which will conclude Genshin Impact Version 2.2. Moreover, characters in the rerun Banners are already confirmed to include Albedo and Eula, and it will mark the first time 5-star Banners run concurrently in the game. New playable characters are Inazumans Arataki Itto and Gorou.

The 2.3 update of Genshin Impact, Shadows Amidst Snowstorms, will be the fourth update in the second version. The earlier phase of the update will focus on Dragonspine involving story quests and game events set in the Mondstadt region. Albedo and Eula will join the Traveler in exploring the Dragonspine region once again. Meanwhile, the later phase will open Arataki Itto’s Story Quest in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact 2.3’s Event Wishes & Character Banners

The Event Wishes in Genshin Impact Version 2.3 will be different from the usual Wish format in previous versions. This time, two 5-star character Event Wishes will be available at the same time. For the earlier phase, Albedo’s Secretum Secretorum Banner will be joining Eula’s Born of Ocean Swell Banner. The later phase of the Genshin Impact 2.3 update will have the Oni’s Royale Banner, which features Arataki Itto and Gorou.

In the new rerun mechanics, both character Banners will share the same accumulated Wish count that guarantees a 5-star character drop in Genshin Impact’s pity system. For instance, if a player pulled 50 times in Albedo’s Secretum Secretorum Banner and failed to obtain any 5-star character in Genshin Impact, by continuing to pull in Eula’s Banner within a maximum of 40 pulls guarantees at least a single 5-star character from Eula’s Banner. This latest update in the character Event Wish will continue to be implemented in future character reruns in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact 2.3’s New Boss: Golden Wolf Lord

One of the major additions to Genshin Impact 2.3 is the Golden Wolf Lord, a new world boss that provides multiple rewards and Ascension materials. The Golden Wolf Lord is the king of the Riftwolves found in Tsurumi Island. Similar to its subjects, players may challenge the giant Abyssal boss in Tsurumi Island in the Inazuma region.

The livestream has also provided detailed combat strategies in defeating the Golden Wolf Lord. The king of the Riftwolves in Genshin Impact applies Corrosion stacks which means that afflicted characters will continuously lose HP over time. To survive this attack, players must keep a Genshin Impact healer character in the party to provide HP to the characters while fighting the Golden Wolf Lord. Furthermore, the Golden Wolf Lord will summon Rifthound Alphas to protect itself once it loses a certain amount of HP, making the battle even more challenging for players. In the latter part of the fight, the Golden World Lord’s resistance to Geo DMG decreases while its ATK increases.

Genshin Impact 2.3’s New Events & Rewards

Apart from a new boss to battle and playable characters to obtain, new time-limited events are also in the Genshin Impact 2.3 update. Since the earlier part of the update will revolve around Dragonspine, the first event is set to take place on the icy mountains of the Mondstadt region in Genshin Impact. In the Shadows Amidst Snowstorms main event, the Adventurer Guild will be holding winter training on Dragonspine. Players will partake in three consecutive pieces of training – Agility, Tracker, and Combat Training.

In Agility Training, players must complete a course under a time limit while collecting Insignias of Conquest and Insignias of Adventure. Points are earned according to the number of Insignias collected and the time spent in completing a course. On the other hand, the Tracker training involves Ice Crystal piles in specific areas. Genshin Impact Pyro characters will be significant in this training as the Pyro element is needed in melting the Ice Crystal Piles. During the Combat Training, players must defeat several opponents under a given time limit to complete the final training. To add to the excitement, players will be able to build a snowman that can be kept after the event ends. Throughout the training, players will receive various rewards including Mora, Primogems, a 4-star sword called Cinnabar Spindle, components to be used in building a snowman, and much more.

The later phase of the Genshin Impact Version 2.3 update will return to Inazuma where the next event will take place. In the next event, titled Bantan Sango Case Files: The Warrior Dog, certain animals in Inazuma are mysteriously disappearing. Players must look for the lost animals and rescue them from thieves and Warrior Dogs. A new gadget known as the Omni-Ubiquity Net will be obtained by players to be used in rescuing the lost animals and it can be used later on to add animals into the Serenitea Pot.

While surveying the locations where lost animals could be found, players will encounter Dens of Thieves and Warrior Dogs throughout the event. The thieves and other enemies in Genshin Impact must be defeated to save the lost animals in their sites. A Warrior Dog, along with its illusionary copies, carries a sword and patrols around sites where the missing animals are located. Players must sneak to where the lost animals are kept and stay out of the Warrior Dog’s line of sight. Rewards include Mora, Primogems, the new Omni-Ubiquity Net gadget, and other Ascension materials.

Finally, the last event covered in the livestream of Genshin Impact 2.3 is the Energy Amplifier Fruition event. While an Energy Amplifier event has already been featured in the past, there are remaining mutation stones in certain areas. Players must go to the site of threats and eliminate all the enemies on the site. What differentiates the latest Energy Amplifier Event from the previous version is that once all the investigation tasks in Act 1 are completed, players will automatically obtain the Energy Amplifier and all of the Irminsul fruit fragments. Likewise, the event grants various rewards to Genshin Impact players after completing each phase.
