Genshin Impact’s Version 1.4 event “Invitation of Windblume” introduced a feature that allowed players to challenge a mysterious Domain and participate in mini-games similar to those of the popular game Fall Guys, which allows large groups of people to challenge each other for a chance at being the sole victor. In “Peculiar Wonderland,” players were able to race through Mist Bubbles, memorize pathways to avoid falling off platforms, and more. Rather than being a temporary event, Genshin Impact should turn Peculiar Wonderland into a permanent feature.

Mondstadt’s Windblume Festival commemorates Genshin Impact’s Anemo Archon Barbatos – otherwise known as his mortal identity Venti – for the freedom he had gifted to the people of Mondstadt. Challenges such as Bullseye Balloons, Floral Freefall, and Ballads of Breeze were also hosted in addition to the Peculiar Wonderland. Players were able to complete these challenges solo or with other Adventurers in Co-Op Mode.

When entering the Peculiar Wonderland, players are faced with three out of eight randomized challenges followed by a Peculiar Trial that hosts varying Boss enemies. Upon completion of the Peculiar Challenges and Trial, players are able to earn rewards such as Primogems, Mora, and other resources. As a popular co-op feature, a permanent Peculiar Wonderland has the opportunity to allow players an additional and engaging way to earn resources that varies from the typical battles of Genshin Impact’s Domains and Bosses.

Genshin Impact’s Permanent Peculiar Wonderland Could Improve Endgame Engagement

Players have the vast world of Teyvat to explore, along with exciting World, Character, and Archon quests to keep them busy. However, once these tasks are all completed, players become more limited in the things that they can do. Daily Commissions and Weekly Bosses are among the few activities players can do to earn resources; it may eventually become dull and mundane with the lack of variety.

With a permanent Peculiar Wonderland, players will be able to challenge themselves as they would normally challenge a Domain. As Resin in Genshin Impact is a precious resource, these mini-games should reward players in exchange for meeting a certain quota or requirement. Similar to event Achievements – which often give resources for completing extra conditions – players should be able to earn resources in a way that does not expend Resin.

Additionally, players should be allowed to create their own levels of each mini-game. The Serenitea Pot was recently given a feature where hosts could create and commence custom races inside of the realm, similar to the Daily Commission mechanic that requires players to reach a certain destination within a time limit. This would allow players to exercise creativity in an outlet aside from the Serenitea Pot in Genshin Impact. If given this creative liberty and opportunity, Genshin Impact will be able to increase player engagement as well as help nurture active communities.
