The entire town of Stars Hollow is invested in these star-crossed lovers, and the ups and downs of their romance are at the core of the remaining seasons. Christopher tries to persuade Lorelai to move once they’re married during season 7, but once again, Lorelai isn’t willing or able to compromise. During the finale, Lane and Rory reminisce on the front porch, and Lorelai sneaks into her daughter’s room at night as she has many times before: a room that remains largely untouched long after Rory stops living there.
