The cast of characters feels familiar as well, as Ginny has a chic and young-at-heart mom, a best friend, two love interests, and a dad who comes back into her life at random intervals.

The two popular teen dramas are different in many ways, as Ginny and her friends deal with tough subjects and Stars Hollow has more quirks than Wellsbury does. But when it comes to what these mother-daughter duos and their friends go through every day, there are many storylines that feel similar.

10 Georgia And Lorelai Wanted To Leave Their Past Behind

Georgia and Lorelai are both fun moms who are closer with their kids than most and who want the best for them.

They also share a similar storyline: they have tried their hardest to leave their past behind. In Georgia’s case, she has married two men in order to have a place to live, and she has gotten rid of those husbands and is running from the law. She never wants to return to her home, as she was abused as a child and wants to only look forward. 6 Max And Lane Feel Neglected By Their Best Friends

There’s a compelling storyline in each teen drama about best friends having trouble connecting. They feel ignored and misunderstood.

Ginny upsets Max by keeping her feelings for Max’s brother Marcus a secret, and Rory neglects Lane when she falls for Dean so quickly that she can’t balance all the parts of her life.
