Although Grand Theft Auto 6 is reportedly in development, an official release date has still yet to be announced. Even though Rockstar is withholding many details about the highly anticipated game, the fact that the next generation of consoles are set to debut later this year is keeping gamers on the edge of their seats. There is intense speculation online over what new elements GTA 6 will include and where it will improve compared to other installments in the series.

Many of the questions surrounding GTA 6 include what characters the developers will bring back. The Grand Theft Auto franchise has resulted in countless characters that players love to use to unleash their inhibitions. While it’s likely Rockstar will introduce some new characters into the storyline, fans remain hopeful that at least one or two beloved characters will make a cameo.

Rockstar isn’t above reusing characters over the course of several games, as people like Donald Love not only showed up in Grand Theft Auto III but in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City as well, albeit in a much younger form. Consequently, there are lots of opportunities for the developer to bring batch other iconic characters, such as the ones listed below.

Trevor Phillips In GTA 6

Even though there’s a scene in which Trevor dies in Grand Theft Auto V, it’s still possible Rockstar would write him into the newest game, especially given how much of a favorite this Canadian redneck has become. Perhaps Trevor somehow cheated death, or the developers will try to pass it off as though it never happened or establish one of the game’s other endings as canon. Steven Ogg, the voice actor behind the character, has even hinted he’d be open to reprising to the role for GTA 6. If he’s onboard, there should be no reason the developers aren’t, as well.

Yusuf Amir in GTA 6

Grand Theft Auto 4 may have gone for a more realistic tone, but the franchise re-confirmed its commitment to its raunchy humor with the release of The Ballad of Gay Tony. For many fans, Yusuf is the reason the expansion pack was so memorable. The eccentric character – a real estate developer with endless family money – does everything he can to try and make his dad proud. Thanks to his continual slip-ups, however, that’s easier said than done. Fans would appreciate checking in with Yusuf in GTA 6, especially to see if his relationship with his dad ever improved.

Brucie Kibbutz in GTA 6

Though he wasn’t the main character in GTA 4, Brucie Kibbutz is regarded among fans as one of the best side characters in the entire game. His Jersey Shore-esque attitude and penchant for making poor decisions provide a good ounce of comedic relief, which would be sorely missed if this character doesn’t have a moment in Grand Theft Auto 6.

Tommy Vercetti in GTA 6

Given the rumors surrounding GTA 6’s location and timeline, it’s entirely possible Tommy Vercetti could be re-introduced to the franchise. He was the protagonist in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and even though his criminal associates seemed conflicted about some of their business ventures, Vercetti was always committed to his crime-loving ways. His wild, unapologetic attitude is what makes it so fun for gamers to play as Vercetti.

Tony Prince In GTA 6

It makes a lot of sense for Rockstar to include Tony Prince in GTA 6. The somewhat slimy character was a nightclub owner and promoter in GTA 4’s The Ballad of Gay Tony, and later became a fixture in GTA Online. Tony’s connections in the entertainment industry (and underground criminal activity) makes it easy to write him into plot lines, while fans will love the nostalgia of seeing Tony’s face on their screens.

With few details confirmed about Grand Theft Auto 6, it remains unclear if any of these characters will make an appearance in the upcoming game. With speculation mounting, however, perhaps it will become clear sooner rather than later who made the cut.
