Set in the fictional Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, Grey’s Anatomy focuses on the lives of surgical interns, residents, and attendings, as they grow into experienced doctors and balance their overlapping personal and professional lives. In 2020, the show’s season 17 production and storyline were heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Now in season 18, Grey’s Anatomy follows the titular character, Meredith Grey, as she moves forward in her life after her battle with COVID. The newest season premiered on September 30, 2021, and is airing every Thursday night. However, the series is taking a few weeks off. So when will Grey’s Anatomy season 18, episode 7 release?
Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the famed medical drama will be taking a week off from the screen. Consequently, Grey’s Anatomy season 18, episode 7’s release date will then be on December 9, 2021, at 9pm ET. Instead of a Grey’s Anatomy episode, ABC will be airing a 2-hour special episode of America’s Funniest Home Videos. Furthermore, on December 2, 2021, the channel will be showing the two-part finale of The Great Christmas Light Fight in the time slot of Grey’s Anatomy season 18.
This is not the first time the show has taken a break this season. Just last October, three ABC shows — Grey’s Anatomy, its spin-off series Station 19, and crime drama Big Sky — took a two-week break to give way to special scheduled programming. On October 28, ABC held a Toy Story-themed night, while on the following week, the channel celebrated the legendary rock band Queen, honoring vocalist Freddie Mercury, in particular.
