A GTA Online player recently encountered a series of unfortunate situations, having gotten trapped inside the game’s UFOs while playing on the PlayStation 3. Since Rockstar Games’ open-world multiplayer counterpart to Grand Theft Auto V debuted in October 2013, it has amassed many online players – albeit with a many in-game issues, such as server problems and mod misuse. Even though such complications continue to persist years later, players can still enjoy the variety of activities that the game has to offer; such as heist events, go-kart and car racing, auto shop client jobs, and much more.
Despite the latest generation of video game consoles releasing less than a year ago, GTA Online is still available for play on older-gen systems like the PS3 and Xbox 360. However, those players who have been enjoying the game on these consoles will need to upgrade soon, as Rockstar has stated those servers will be shut down today. That said, the game still has plenty in-store for its existing platforms. As reported by a recent leak, a GTA Online update featuring Dr. Dre is scheduled for the near future, so PSN and Xbox Live players will have to experience the update on the PS4 and Xbox One, or the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S if they are lucky enough to get their hands on these elusive and scarce systems.
One GTA Online player found themselves dealing with a series of unfortunate events while playing the game on the older-generation PlayStation 3 console. Reddit user Cease_Infidel was repeatedly trapped inside UFOs and shared the frustrating situation online. _Cease_Infidel explained to the GTA Online subreddit community that, while playing the game on the older system, they were teleported to a UFO situated underwater, which caused them to drown. After respawning in Paleto Bay, the player was stuck inside the UFO, much to their rightful dissatisfaction

Glitches are common on GTA Online and have caused all types of problems for players, ranging from losing special items to being trapped in certain locations with no way out. In Cease_Infidel’s case, some other Reddit users blamed their struggles on the PlayStation 3 servers. Others also stated similar problems have occurred on the game’s PC servers. Issues surrounding Grand Theft Auto Online’s teleportation and respawning mechanics are common, as well, with one recent glitch causing entire lobbies of players to teleport to one house.
Even if the player decides to take the experience to a later generation console, they could still face a similar situation. Not long ago, a glitch trapped GTA Online players in the Diamond Casino. However, players worked out a solution to avoid that problem in the future. Despite some of the glitches pushing players to the verge of rage-quitting, there have been others that brought some joy in the form of invincible vehicles and funny, altered surroundings. Unfortunately for Cease_Infidel, their GTA Online glitch did not provide a fun experience.
