GTA Online’s Los Santos Tuners update goes live today, introducing ten of the 17 new vehicles being added to the game over the course of the summer and the all-new LS Car Meet.
GTA 5’s life will officially extend onto a third generation of consoles later this year. What has become one of the best-selling games of all time has one major element to thank for most of its success: GTA Online. GTA 5’s story might be great, but it’s GTA Online and the constant flow of updates for it from Rockstar that keeps the game not just alive, but among the most active in the industry right now, free-to-play or otherwise.
GTA Online’s updates are rarely minor deals too. We’re not talking a bug fix here and a new item of clothing there. At the end of last year, it received its biggest update so far in the form of the Cayo Perico Heist. Today, the game gets a host of new additions via the Los Santos Tuners update.
As the name implies, the Los Santos Tuners update is all about GTA Online’s cars. Actually, it’s more about new cars than the game’s existing ones. The update will include ten all-new cars including the Annis Remus, Dinka RT3000, and the awesomely named Vapid Dominator GTT. All ten vehicles will be available from lots throughout Los Santos, but they’re going to cost you.
The cars might be the flashiest part of this new update, but the LS Car Meet feature is the headline act. A warehouse in which as many as 30 players can meet up and show off their rides. There, you will be able to mod your cars in real-time along with everyone else. Car Meet members will be shown the ropes by Mimi. Mimi will teach you all about your car meet membership, your rep, and the various perks that come with building that rep, one of which is access to the test track to try out the game’s new vehicles.
Hanging out with your friends and talking about virtual cars is all well and good. However, no GTA Online update is complete without the ability to go out into the world and commit actual crimes. Meet regular Moodymann will afford you that opportunity. Providing you have an auto-shop, players will be able to accept an all-new array of robbery contracts based on your ability to drive. The Los Santos Tuners update goes live today free of charge to GTA Online players across all platforms.
