The Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition achievements list has apparently surfaced online ahead of its release, and one includes a nod to a popular GTA: San Andreas meme. Although all three classic titles in the collection have been re-released on modern consoles with trophies and achievements before, it appears Rockstar Games may have created a new list for each remastered GTA trilogy game for the 2021 collection.

After almost a year of speculation and rumors, Rockstar announced the GTA remaster trilogy earlier in October. The collection will include remastered versions of Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City, and San Andreas and will be released before the end of 2021 (for most platforms) to celebrate the 20th anniversary of GTA 3. The trilogy is comprised of three of the most acclaimed games from the PS2 era, all of which helped to cement Rockstar Games as a key player in the games industry.

Although there are rumors about how substantial the changes made to Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition will be, the collection seems to include new achievements at the very least. A list circulating online claims each game includes over 40 achievements, coming out to a total of 135. Many of these include fun nods to the series, Rockstar’s history, and pop culture in general. Some GTA trilogy achievement art has also leaked, but GTA Forums user alloc8tor posted the actual descriptions of each achievement. “…Here We Go Again” achievement appears to be a nod to the iconic San Andreas meme by the same name, and it requires players to start a new San Andreas save after earning 100% completion. There’s even a reference to The Warriors, which Rockstar adapted into a video game in 2005. For GTA 3’s “Come Out To Play-y-y-y” achievement, players have to kill 25 gang members with fists or melee weapons.

Needless to say, this list should keep curious parties busy for quite a while. All three games are relatively lengthy, even by today’s standards, so earning every achievement in the entire collection could be undertaking. It’s unclear if Rockstar has added any new content, but the base games are already jammed full of things to do. Rockstar has teased some GTA trilogy enhancements, including gameplay and graphical upgrades, but the studio has yet to fully divulge how the games will actually look or play.

It’s been reported GTA: Trilogy will use the Unreal Engine as opposed to Rockstar’s in-house RAGE engine and that the remasters are heavily modded versions of the original releases. With the 20th anniversary of GTA 3 slated for October 22, it’s likely a full taste of full release will be given soon. There’s no solid release date for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition, but rumors suggest it will launch in November.
