There’s just over a month left for the December 8 launch of Halo Infinite, but we oddly still don’t know much about the game’s campaign. Well that’s about to change as Xbox has scheduled a ‘Campaign Overview’ on its YouTube channel for 6 am PT/9 am ET. We know very little about what Master Chief is going to be up to in this one, but hopefully this showcase will answer the questions that have been piling up for months.

“The Banished have defeated UNSC forces and taken control of the mysterious Zeta Halo, threatening the survival of humankind,” reads the description below the scheduled premiere. “When all hope is lost and humanity’s fate hangs in the balance, the Master Chief returns to confront the most ruthless foe he’s ever faced.”

It also mentions that it will be a “fresh look” that will introduce players to “Spartan freedom in the biggest, most wide open and adventure-filled Halo experience yet”. While the wording is pretty vague it definitely hints at the possibility of gameplay footage. It’ll be very frustrating if we don’t see any.

343 has been aware of fans’ frustration at the lack of campaign information. “Everybody wants to see campaign, especially campaign gameplay,” said the studio in August. “We will absolutely show campaign gameplay before launch, but we just need to stay focused on shutdown mode. Once we’re past that hurdle, we’re going to be going after things like gameplay captures and trailers, that will all be coming a little bit closer to launch.”

45 days can definitely be termed as “closer to launch”, so it’s very likely that gameplay will be featured.

Unfortunately you won’t be able to play the campaign along with your mate on December 8, as the co-op campaign and Forge features will not be included at launch. Head of creative, Joseph Staten shared the news in mid-August, noting that they made the “really tough decision to delay”.

Lastly, it appears that Master Chief may be taking on multiple Missions in Halo Infinite, as a screenshot of the Halo website menu was spotted in July with the word “Campaigns” on it. That implies more than one campaign, in case you haven’t had enough coffee this morning.
