Halo Infinite How to Unlock More Regions in The Open World

Halo Infinite brings a unique experience to the franchise with an open-world campaign, but each region will need to be unlocked for players to be able to explore it. Unlocking new areas will require progression through the story, but players should be aware that some areas can’t be returned to, like Outpost Tremonius or Warship Gbraakon. Exploring the open world will help players find weapons, side quests, and a variety of collectibles, some of which can change the game like Halo Infinite’s Skulls.

Any area in Halo Infinite that opens up for a story mission won’t be accessible once the mission is complete. Many of the mission areas will have collectibles, like Skulls or Audio Logs, that players must pick up during the mission. If these collectibles are missed, players will need to start a new save file in order to play them again. Regions outside of story missions can be unlocked and explored over time, but players will still need to progress in the story.

Along with completing main story missions, players will need to capture Forward Operating Bases in order to reveal areas on the map and unlock fast travel points in Halo Infinite. Forward Operating Bases are also used to spawn vehicles and change loadouts. Once players unlock vehicles, they can use them to explore the open world as well.

Unlocking Regions in Halo Infinite

There are several regions to unlock and explore in Halo Infinite. They unlock after certain story missions, and once they’re open, players are free to search for collectibles and complete side missions like rescuing Marines or destroying Banished Outposts. Each region will be unlocked after completing Halo Infinite campaign missions or unlocking Forward Operating Bases.

Most of the open-world map is available as soon as players finish Outpost Tremonius, the third main mission in Halo Infinite. Players can then focus on getting Forward Operating Bases by clearing them of all Banished in the area, then activating the center console to claim the base. Collectibles in each area are revealed once Forward Operating Bases are claimed, so players can explore areas more thoroughly.

Unlocking different regions in Halo Infinite requires players to progress in the main story. Mission areas will be locked once a story mission is completed, but players will still need to find collectibles in those areas to get 100% completion in Halo Infinite. Exploring regions is a new feature added to the Halo series, and it gives players more freedom over the direction of their adventure.
